Hot FM is back

I think the latest changes at Hot are good ones, Hot FM back, more of a playlist,
and a return of a prior morning personality coming back next week. If these changes don't get them a boost in ratings, then they should hang it up. I think things will improve though.
What do you think? I could be wrong!
Now if they would just get down to the beach, and pay 103.7 listeners some attention, they could zip right on up.

Who's your guess on the returning morning show personality?

Uh..... Not that Rick Stix guy? He was old when I came here in college back in 91.

Get a fresh young team like Bob did.

I have not listened, is it Stix? If it is it would be the reunion of all 3 and that would be smart...because they were funny as hell.

eh... I like to hear Rick on WSFL. He matches the music.

If they were to offer him a full time spot, he'd be crazy to leave Beasely to work for Archway.

Stix is ok. I think he sounds kind of like Casey Casem. I agree, he is definitely more of the SFL demographic. When I think of Top 40, I think of hip, happening, young talent that "live the lifestyle". Not Stix.

Hot FM's Playlist...

I am not about to catch the Hot FM taht often anymore. But, I have noticed several late 80's tunes in their playlist, when the scan goes by them. In the past week or two, I have heard, 'Head To Toe' by Lisa Lisa (twice), 'Never Gonna Give You Up' by Rick Astley (today), and a few others. Do they still have something like the retro lunch...or are they intentionally working some 'gold' into their CHR format?

They still do a retro lunch, or 80's lunch, or something like that. Otherwise, they are leaning rythmic. I don't know anything about what goes on down Glenburnie, but I'm guessing maybe Gina Gray is doing the music? When she did it before, the station had a rythmic sound.

I think that new guy FOX on mid days is doing the music. Seems I recall while listening one time that he is the boss now... I think he is doing a bang up job, if it is him.

Sounds like they're trying to figure out what they want to be.

I think most will agree that Hot sounded best in the mid-90's when they were CHr but leaning rhythmic. They've been all over the map since then. I don't think the station is beyond help, they still have a couple of talented people over there. It seems like everytime they start to take a step in the right direction, Archway shoots themselves in the foot.

Crystal Legends, Greg Brady and Rick Stix
