Hot Hits 957 Hot idea for a old format!

A well thought out idea. The top of the hour grabber will be a Hot Hit! Great idea involves the net, text, and phones and its 24x7. I may not like the music but I like the format has it is presented. CBS has made a wise investment.

This station is well formatted and knows it's audience. I would forget the jock but hi-lite the phones similar to Jack FM.

I do not think a jock can do justice with this fast paced format and may hurt it!

I love the jock but this format sounds Hot with out.

I found this station similar to 9fm in Chicago, but Hotter.

CBS gets my vote on this move!

Nice to hear good radio in H Town!

I definitely agree, except about the jocks. Great CHR jocks that understand "forward momentum" will speed it up and keep it "hot", and will add to the station - which is already stellar. I'm highly impressed. This is CHR radio done right.

What's really impressive to me is that CBS didn't just copy one of their other standard formats but came up with a custom creation for the market. Thanks to Clear Channel mentality, the industry overall has ignored the younger set which really doesn't need terrestrial radio with the internet and iPods and such. To woo this generation back, it's gonna take attention to detail, and the "excitement stuff" between the songs you don't hear on your iPod...

Obviously, Dan Mason and CBS "gets it" as they constantly demonstrate by their recent station revamps and giving a damn about what they're feeding to the listeners. Too bad nobody else in the industry does.

They also seem to be copying a bunch of what Sirius does with its Hits 1 format.
The hourly ''number one'' is a trademark of the satellite radio channel.

The ''excitement between the records'' that somebody mentioned is also integral to their format.
The jocks are all about creating talk by talking about what people are talking about. Interestingly they do it without alot of talk.

They also have the advantage of running commercial free. I'm afraid 95.7 will have trouble keeping young listeners from reaching for the iPod once they hit their spot breaks.
