hot new summer tracks

Sean Paul - Give It Up To MeA lot more reggae than Temperature but it is a great track. A definite addJames Blunt - HighMight pick up better than You're Beautiful since it's slightly more upbeat but if you didn't or barely played You're Beautiful, this one will likely get skipped as well.Shawnna - Gettin' Some ****Pretty much a girl Ludacris, it'll made top 30 at least.Outkast - Mighty OI think the same thing about this track as Hey Ya. At first I thought it was completely wack but now I think it could be the best track of the year.Mary J Blige- Enough CryinA little more upbeat, but probably won't do as well.Lil' Rob - Summer NightsNot a new track but you HAVE to start playing this again.

There are more than THAT!

Oh c'mon now, if you're gonna go through the AllAccess CHR/Mainstream New Music list like I did, you've gotta list all the good ones ;DAll-American Rejects - Move AlongNot exactly new per sé, but a good, solid song nonetheless. I wouldn't be surprised to hear this pop up in high school and college basketball games next school year. Cascada - MiracleGood follow-up to Everytime We Touch, but not quite as good as I'd expected. Not that it's bad, it's just not quite what I thought it could be. CHR still needs to jump all over it, though. Chamillionaire - Ridin'Already blowing up. Reminds me of Three Six Mafia's "Stay Fly". Christina Milian feat. Young Jeezy - Say IVERY hot, but given a few of the recent hot tracks that radio hasn't played, I wouldn't be surprised to hear this one swept under the rug by mainstream stations. Which is sad, really, because most people would probably dig it. K.T. Tunstall - Black Horse & The Cherry TreeBluesy... I like it! We need more of this feel in CHR today. Mary J. Blige feat. Brook-Lyn - Enough Cryin'The jams just keep coming from Mary J. I've gotta get this album! Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland - PromiscuousFor anyone who doesn't know what the current sound of hip-hop and R&B should be, this is it! This is HOT!!! Very Miami-feeling, too. Y-100 and Power 96 will probably blow this one up. If they don't, they're fools. Pussycat Dolls feat. "Big" Snoop Dogg - ButtonsI like another PCD track? Scary.

Reminds me of Three Six Mafia's "Stay Fly".This already has blown up, it's already cracked the top 10. Christina Milian feat. Young Jeezy - Say IVERY hot, but given a few of the recent hot tracks that radio hasn't played, I wouldn't be surprised to hear this one swept under the rug by mainstream stations. Which is sad, really, because most people would probably dig it.True. Also because rhythmic is already dropping it. Mary J. Blige feat. Brook-Lyn - Enough Cryin'The jams just keep coming from Mary J. I've gotta get this album!great CD Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland - PromiscuousFor anyone who doesn't know what the current sound of hip-hop and R&B should be, this is it! This is HOT!!! Very Miami-feeling, too. Y-100 and Power 96 will probably blow this one up. If they don't, they're fools.Because Y100 could careless about ratings so they won't play it. Pussycat Dolls feat. "Big" Snoop Dogg - ButtonsI like another PCD track? Scary.Okay then, I will go through all of the new tracks, ALL of them.Bon Jovi - Who Says You Can't Go HomeThe pop version is actually pretty good, there's two versions of the track, the ocuntry version likely won't appeal whatsoever.Paula DeAnda - Doing Too Much f/Baby BashReally good track right here, sounds a lot like...Natalie maybe?Jeannie Ortega - Crowded f/PapooseReally like the Papoose part, he sounds a lot like Jay-Z.Panic At The Disco - I Write Sins, Not TragediesIt's a pretty good song but chances are you'll want a radio edit.Chris Brown - Gimme ThatGood summer jam but not much else.Lil' Jon - Snap Yo FingersGet Low Part IIGoo Goo Dolls - Stay With YouPretty decent track here, probably won't do very well but it'll at least do top 40.Ak'Sent - ZingyWait a few weeks, and it'll be souring up the top 10. Crazy dance track right here.Yung Joc - It's Goin DownI find this one too basic but it'll do pretty well for the DFB/D4L group.....P!nk - Who KnewAwesome track, sounds a lot like her 2002 stuff.Nickelback - Far AwayProbably their best single yet. It was gonna be their 2nd but I guess those people at Roadrunner changed their mind.Breaking Point - All Messed UpA really good track, hope this new band does well.Korn/Dem Franchize Boyz - Coming Undone Wit ItWTF?!?!Well, there's some more.

Chamillionaire - Ridin'Hit. If you're going to mention this as "new," you really need to do a better job of keeping up. This was released six weeks ago. Christina Milian feat. Young Jeezy - Say IRhythmic also played it earlier than Mainstream and it's peaked. Mainstream still has plenty of time on this song. It's a hit and will be a Top 10. Mary J. Blige feat. Brook-Lyn - Enough Cryin'I've already called this one a stiff once. Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland - PromiscuousHit. Already in the Top 20 and climbing. Although, I would love to see people play the Intro/Half Hook First version that I put together.Because Y100 could careless about ratings so they won't play it.Really? That must be why they played it 52x last week and are already past 150 spins with it. People that don't know what they're talking about really shouldn't open their mouths, sometimes. Pussycat Dolls feat. "Big" Snoop Dogg - ButtonsMarginal hit, at best. Will peak between 13 and 18.Okay then, I will go through all of the new tracks, ALL of them.Bon Jovi - Who Says You Can't Go HomeGood daytime record, if you've got an adult lean. With CHR/Mainstream leaning heavily Rhythmic right now, though, I don't see this one higher than 15... IF that.Paula DeAnda - Doing Too Much f/Baby BashHit, will peak around 12.Jeannie Ortega - Crowded f/PapooseNot so much liking this one... my jury is still out.Panic At The Disco - I Write Sins, Not TragediesWell no kidding you'd want a radio edit! After all, we're talking about RADIO airplay here. Again, those who do not know what they're talking about really shouldn't open their mouths sometimes. This is a hit, by the way. Will reach the Top 15, perhaps higher.Chris Brown - Gimme ThatI don't like it, but I think it's a hit, nonetheless. Peak between 8 and 15.Lil' Jon - Snap Yo FingersLOVE the beat, HATE the song. But, I think you're right in that it will have the Get Low effect and probably make the Top 15.Goo Goo Dolls - Stay With YouNot a Mainstream song. Peak between 30 and 35, but probably a Top 5 @ Hot AC.Ak'Sent - ZingyGreat beat, not sold on the song. Maybe a Top 20.Yung Joc - It's Goin DownHATE THIS SONG. Mainstream stiff.P!nk - Who KnewPink needs to just go away already. Stiff.Nickelback - Far AwayFormula... Rock... Sucks.Breaking Point - All Messed UpCan't say as I've heard this one. No opinion.Korn/Dem Franchize Boyz - Coming Undone Wit ItWeird, but cool, IMO. Not a hit, though.

The Nelly Furtado / Timbaland smash feels like Miami because it was recorded aqui en Miami last year ! It's no wonder that it's been a total smash on Y-100 over the past few weeks. I think it's got that certain late-1980s Miami bass sound / freestyle feel to it. Nelly has definitely grown up a lot since her sweet and innocent "I'm Like A Bird" days of 2001 !This past weekend I heard "How Do You Do !" on Cascada's CD at the Virgin Megastore at Walt Disney World. That track is HOT ! I wish it were released as a radio single. (I also loved the under-appreciated 1992 original version from Roxette.)THE MAJOR

I'll go through some of your responses "CHRProgrammer" and give you my own. Christina Milian feat. Young Jeezy - Say IRhythmic also played it earlier than Mainstream and it's peaked. Mainstream still has plenty of time on this song. It's a hit and will be a Top 10.WRONG! Stiff and a half. Mary J. Blige feat. Brook-Lyn - Enough Cryin'I've already called this one a stiff once.WOW! You really know how to pick em....If I remember correctly, you also called "Be Without You" a stiff, but I seem to remember calling that one an out of the box smash. Which it was...but I guess in your world a #1 record at multiple formats is a stiff...Maybe you should take some of your own advice. Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland - PromiscuousHit. Already in the Top 20 and climbing. Although, I would love to see people play the Intro/Half Hook First version that I put together. We actually agree on this one. Amazing. Pussycat Dolls feat. "Big" Snoop Dogg - ButtonsMarginal hit, at best. Will peak between 13 and 18.At Rhythm it's gonna have a tough time, the pop leaning rhythm tracks have been total ish for the past few months, but I think this one is also a marginal hit at Mainstream, probably will call out for a handful, but totally shit the bed with others.Bon Jovi - Who Says You Can't Go HomeGood daytime record, if you've got an adult lean. With CHR/Mainstream leaning heavily Rhythmic right now, though, I don't see this one higher than 15... IF that.I'VE PREACHED THIS BEFORE AND I WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UNTIL PEOPLE LIKE YOU GET IT....THE DAYS OF DAYPARTING ARE O-V-E-R, be who you are going to be all day. Don't divide your audience loyalty to certain hours, it will eventaully kill your Cume because I guarantee it's killing your TSL right now. Play what people expect you to play, and do it all the time. Every quarter hour should be a solid musical snapshot as to what people can expect from your station. As far as the BonJovi record, I don't see it working at Mainstream. Hot AC/AC hit though!!Paula DeAnda - Doing Too Much f/Baby BashHit, will peak around 12.More like SMASH!! It's calling out EVERYWHERE! This record is huge for both Rhythmic and Mainstream.Jeannie Ortega - Crowded f/PapooseNot so much liking this one... my jury is still out.I agree with the person who posted their like of the Papoose part of the song, unfortunately, that's about the only appeal for it. Stiff. BESIDES, Hollywood records has a bad track record with Rhythm leaning tracks. They don't have the experience to promote this record. Panic At The Disco - I Write Sins, Not TragediesWell no kidding you'd want a radio edit! After all, we're talking about RADIO airplay here. Again, those who do not know what they're talking about really shouldn't open their mouths sometimes. You REALLY like that statement don't you?? I've been a big fan of Panic for a few years now. If you program Mainstream listen to me, this band has sold THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of records with no airplay. They've Sold Out major concert venues all over the country within hours of going on sale, with NO help from us. Play this and watch your phones. Major F-INg Smash! It's insanity!!Chris Brown - Gimme ThatI don't like it, but I think it's a hit, nonetheless. Peak between 8 and 15.No it will peak in the top 5, this one has potential to go number 1. Lil' Jon - Snap Yo FingersLOVE the beat, HATE the song. But, I think you're right in that it will have the Get Low effect and probably make the Top 15.Yeah this one will be a multi format smash, as much as I can't stand the "Lil Jon" formula, this one has get low written all over it. Goo Goo Dolls - Stay With YouNot a Mainstream song. Peak between 30 and 35, but probably a Top 5 @ Hot AC.Agreed. Ak'Sent - ZingyGreat beat, not sold on the song. Maybe a Top 20.Sounds great on the air, but total stiff. Her name is hard to say and listeners don't get what she's saying. Not gonna work, this should have been OWNED by Rhythm, but they couldn't get it to work. Yung Joc - It's Goin DownHATE THIS SONG. Mainstream stiff.BULL! This is a smash no matter where you put it! I thought the same thing on my first listen, and this one we brought out of nowhere. It's a HUGE record, and will be for mainstream!P!nk - Who KnewPink needs to just go away already. Stiff.Don't agree. This is the best single of any of her new material, although I don't think it will be HUGE, it's got a top 20 feel to it. Nickelback - Far AwayFormula... Rock... Sucks.BLAH AGAIN TO YOU!! This thing is gonna be as big as Photograph and Savin Me. These guys can't lose. Breaking Point - All Messed UpCan't say as I've heard this one. No opinion.I've heard it in a couple of places. Not really feeling it. Korn/Dem Franchize Boyz - Coming Undone Wit ItWeird, but cool, IMO. Not a hit, though.MASH-UP! This was intended for Alternative, it's a very backpack hip-hop sound to it. Crap for women, won't call out.You kinda sound like you have the KIIS disease. Kiss in LA had a hard on for what they called "MAINSTREAM POP" records that they knew no one else would play out there, but that was because no one cared about those records. It wasn't until John Ivey hired Julie Pilat from KUBE in Seattle that they began to see an upswing at Arbitron, they stopped worrying about dayparting and being musically conservative with Rhythm product and they just started to "PLAY THE HITS!" and it worked! You should think about following that formula, or you should think about getting out of the format.

Mary J Blige- Be Without YouI believe I called that annoying and whiny and I "hoped" it would be a stiff. I don't recall actually coming out and saying it was a stiff.Christina Milian- Say IHit. Period. The research I've seen so far has it with a poor POP score (not familiar yet), but with a very good POTENTIAL score. Bon Jovi- Who Says You Can't Go HomePlay it during the day. Don't play it past 5pm. Some of the best stations STILL daypart, whether you think so or not.Nickelback- Far AwayI only said that I hated the formula rock drivel that these guys seem to keep putting out... I never passed judgement on the song, in regard to whether or not it's a hit or not. Frankly, I've had enough Nickelback and could give two rat's asses less about 'em.Chris Brown- Gimme ThatLil Wayne does absolutely nothing for this song. Remember, a lot of people thought "Yo" was going to be a big song and it wasn't.So you don't agree with my principles of programming... oh well. Good thing you're not in a PD position. I, on the other hand, am headed to a MD position in a decent sized market in the next couple weeks. So, obviously someone agrees with me.

Mary J Blige- Be Without YouI believe I called that annoying and whiny and I "hoped" it would be a stiff. I don't recall actually coming out and saying it was a stiff.Sayin you hoped and actually saying it aren't two different things. In fact, saying you "HOPED" it would be a stiff is, in the English language, saying you think it's a stiff. Backpeddaling are we?Christina Milian- Say IHit. Period. The research I've seen so far has it with a poor POP score (not familiar yet), but with a very good POTENTIAL score. Dunno who's research you're looking at, but between consolidated call-out, RTM.com, BigChampagne and other local call out i've seen, everything points to this being a stiff. And just because something isn't familiar yet doesn't give it a low pop score, alot of these variables also depends on what company is doing the callout and their methodology. Bon Jovi- Who Says You Can't Go HomePlay it during the day. Don't play it past 5pm. Some of the best stations STILL daypart, whether you think so or not.Name ONE station. I don't know of any. The "GREATS" grasped this concept years ago after the horrible AC phase CHR went through. There are still a few stations in small markets hanging onto it, but eventually it will catch up with them. Especially as what is considered "mainstream" becomes less and less "rock" based. Nickelback- Far AwayI only said that I hated the formula rock drivel that these guys seem to keep putting out... I never passed judgement on the song, in regard to whether or not it's a hit or not. Frankly, I've had enough Nickelback and could give two rat's asses less about 'em.And I didn't argue with you about that. I just simply disagreed with your personal opinion, and stated that it will be a hit. Chris Brown- Gimme ThatLil Wayne does absolutely nothing for this song. Remember, a lot of people thought "Yo" was going to be a big song and it wasn't.Agreed. the Lil Wayne-less version is a great pop-esque record that is getting great reaction all over in Rhythmic. So you don't agree with my principles of programming... oh well. Good thing you're not in a PD position. I, on the other hand, am headed to a MD position in a decent sized market in the next couple weeks. So, obviously someone agrees with me.(Edited for personal attack.)
