HOT ROCKIN FLAME THROWING PROCESSOR WARS IN THE NETHERLANDS

Nobody! Shootout was a laugh. The people involved with the shootout sure did have a great time but further than that it was not in any kind realistic with the real life. I mean, running a beta firmware on one of the boxes that has been replaced months ago by a much much better firmware. Or just dial in any factory preset on one box and start comparing it with a heavily tweaked one of the competitor. Not really the way to go if you ask me. I should not consider the mpx records on Leif's website as reference for any processor represented.

Agreed. The shoot-out was a less than ideal situation all around. As for the day in general, it was great. We all walked away learning some things!

Yes, but I must say that the workshops David Reaves, Cornelius Gould, Leif and a few Dutch people active in processing gave made it quite interesting. That was a big contrast with the shootout. Perhaps (and I hope) that the shootout will be at the same level as these presentations the next time.

The processing scene in Holland is truly remarkable! It was my first "Dutch Processing Freak Day" experience, and it won't be my last. I've never seen so many processing fans together in one place before, in any other country. There had to be close to 200 people, maybe even more, standing-room only!

The 'shootouts' were a bit too chaotic to make any real sense to me, but thanks to Tom and the rest of his group, it was a well-organized, very enjoyable event. It was great fun, you could even say a bit of an honor, demo-ing the Ariane Sequel to such an attentive crowd.

I met some new friends, like F Mister, and had nice chats with (and introduced Ariane the wife to) some old ones, such as Scott and Cornelius. But somehow I missed meeting Leif and buying him that beer I promised... :-[

All I can say is "Wow!" Can't wait for next year!

Kind Regards,
David

Yes.

When talking to the organizers, the observation I made is that the processing day feels like an event that has recently found its true footing, and we were all witnessing the beginnings of something really cool.

I can't wait for next year as well!
