With WPHT sounding more boring than ever lately, I guess anyone could come in and image as "Hot Talk". Definitions vary based on which coast you live on.
Typically here west of the Mississippi, hot talk features flagship WW1 talker Tom Leykis, with daily sex and lifestyle advice, and other shows such as John and Jeff that do the same schtick. In the southeast, namely Florida, hot talk is on one or two stations that are mostly local after Leykis and similar shows flopped. And in the northeast, Don and Mike are the biggest attraction, I would think. Even falling Imus is still viewed as hotter talk, whereas Stern and Lex and Terry dominate elsewhere.
