Hotel Cable Report - Philadelphia, PA - 2/23/2012

I'm reporting from the Hilton Garden Inn tonight. It's in Philadelphia's Center City area, across from the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The room's TV is a 32" LG LCD HDTV. While it looks to have the dreaded LodgeNet remote, the cable isn't really that bad. Here's what I'm seeing here:

I couldn't understand the duplication of some channels in both SD and HD. Shouldn't they dump the standard definition one if the HD one is present? Missing from this lineup were NBC Sportschannel, Comcast SportsNet, and the market's affiliates of ION (WPPX-TV), TEL (WWSI-TV), UNI (WUVP-TV) the secondary PBS (WLVT-TV and WYBE-TV) and Reading's station (WTVE-TV).

Seems odd that WHYY is buried while WCAU and WPHL multicasts are in the top tier. And aren't most Phillies games on Comcast SportsNet? They'd leave out the Phillies?

When I stayed in Brattleboro, VT recently, their "cable" didn't have Comcast SportsNet New England (Celtics), but they did have NESN (Red Sox and Bruins).
