Hotel Cable Report: Wyndham Bonnet Creek Orlando, FL

Well, I'm finally in Orlando, and the lineup here actually looks pretty decent. It says the service is provided by Bright House, and I don't even think it's that different from the actual Bright House lineup. No flat screen TV in this room (TV is a 27" Philips Tube TV), but here's the lineup:

2 WMFE (PBS) Orlando-24 (There's a special screen indicating the programming change in PBS, notifying viewers to turn to digital channel 1 or 1001 for WBCC, and analog channel 99.
3 WOFL (Fox/Ind) Orlando-35
4 WESH (NBC) Daytona Beach-2
5 WKMG (CBS) Orlando-8 (It's supposed to be 6, but that's what the lineup card says)
6 WRBW (My Network TV/Ind) Orlando-65
7 WFTV (ABC) Orlando-9
8 WKCF (CW/Ind) Clermont-18
9 Walt Disney World Resort Information
10 WRDQ (Ind) Orlando-27
11 TNT
12 TBS
13 Central Florida News 13
14 Zap2It (Channel Lineup)
16 WQPX (ION) Orlando-56
17 WOTF (Teleftura) Melbourne-43
18 WVEN (Univision) Orlando-26
19 WTGL (Ind) Leesburg-45 (Religious)
20 WGN (Ind) Chicago
21 Bright House Orlando Visitor Network
22 WHLV (Ind) Cocoa-52

97 C-Span
98 Shop NBC
99 WBCC (PBS) Orlando-68 (not listed on lineup, but still there, guess they took care of it)

Overall, a good lineup for a hotel resort, I was pleasantly surprised. The only missing channels I can think of are the OTHER former PBS station, which was once WCEU-15 (not sure of the new call letters), and I think there's supposed to be Bright House Sports Network on 47.

Channel 15 is now WDSC, and that station dropped PBS on July 1, 2011, around the same time WMFE disaffiliated with PBS, leaving WBCC as the sole PBS station (using "WUCF" as its fake calls, due to its ties with the University of Central Florida). WDSC is digital only (as is Bright House Sports); not sure about WMFE -- according to Wikipedia, it was on Bright House cable channel 20 in analogue, but maybe that changed since then.

Best hotel lineup I've seen in a long time! I stayed in the Quality Inn in Union Gap, WA [near Yakima] on Mother's Day weekend in 2009, and it had the full Charter Communications lineup, including the CW Plus [from KIMA-DT2]. No MNTV however [KXMN, or KZJO is the closest one, IIRC KXMN is on the digital lineup.] Same thing at the Oxford Suites in October 2010. Same full Charter lineup.

Notice the vacant channel spots around HBO (48). Wonder if those are reserved for other premium channels (Showtime et al.) on the actual Bright House lineup.

Maybe that's where the premium channels WERE on the analog system -- a few years back, Bright House pulled all its premium channels from analogue and began to require a digital cable box.

Living in the Disney part of Orlando, that is my channel lineup at home. There are some other channels in the missing numbers that are premium, yes. And my Channel 9 is the Brighthouse programming guide rather than Disney info
