Hotel Cable Report - Wyndham Overlook Newport, Jamestown, RI

For this week, me and my family are staying at this nice resort in Jamestown, RI right near the Newport Bridge, and here is the cable lineup. I believe this is Cox cable.

20 - Univision (not sure if it's WUNI or the National Feed)
21 - CSPAN
22 - EWTN
23 - RTP (Spanish Channel)
24 - Discovery
25 - AMC
26 - Spike
27 - TNT

39 - TLC
40 - Lifetime
41 - History
42 - Animal Planet
43 - TV Land
44 - HGTV
45 - TBS

On one TV with a digital tuner, a Sony 20" WEGA, I did a digital scan, and I was able to receive the following digital channels:

6.1 - WLNE-TV
10.1 - WJAR-TV
10.2 - RTV

I wasn't able to receive any other locals in digital, such as WPRI or WNAC. Does anyone else in RI get any digital channels through Cox without hooking up a converter?

What channels are these?

The interconnects serve as "statewide" public access channels. (Public Access seen on all systems.)
On each seperate system , there is a local public access channel (18).
There are three interconnect channels, actually. Channel 15 is considered Interconnect C, but is used by Capitol TV at the statehouse.

CapitolTV is also carried on the state's two other systems as well, Full Channel and FiOS. I believe the other two interconnects are as well.

What a truly crappy lineup! I am so glad I have DirecTV where even their most basic package is vastly superior to that lineup. Honestly, unless you absolutely have to settle for cable, i can't imagine why anyone would. For about the same amount of money satellite can give you much better value. I know on demand is still way behind cable, but other than that, and maybe public access channels, I don't see how cable is better than satellite. Just my two cents. Also, with the exception of WGBH, no Boston channels on Cox? I realize Newport is a bit far, but I would think maybe one or two?
