hottest radio staion in chicago

I live 150 miles from Chicago in Grand Rapids, MI and WGN KNOCKS THE POOP out of every Grand Rapids station.

WGN is the BEST!

I "bump" on 94.7 WLS-FM, Y103.9 and 97.1 the Drive. On SiriusXM I listen to 60's on 6, Classic Vinyl and Classic Rewind mostly (occasionally, I put on Lithium).

What does WLS FM play anyway??

I would say WLS as they get out the best!! (WHAT IS THEIR DAYTIME REG COVERAGE AREA?? (Im sure they are heard in Pennsylvania regurally during the day))

I'm sure that would surprise the station on 890 in Cashtown, PA, a daytimer. .

Robert Feder is fulla crap. WGN is the hottest and best radio station in Chicago, which makes it, by default, the best in the world. ;D

Agreed on all three scanman! Personally, I think that WLS-FM - particularly when live and local - is one of the best oldies stations anywhere. As for Y103.9 and The Drive, they're fine when WLS-FM is in a loooong spot break or when S. Shannon spins something extra crispy, like "Brown Eyed Girl."

Honorable mention to V 103 when they're playing music.

Hot 102.3 "XLC" http://www.xlc.com/
Also 105.5 WZSR Star 105 www.star105.com and Y-103.9!!! www.y1039.com

The Best Stations are in the "Burbs" and Out-of-Town Stations Like 99.1 WMYX!
Forget Downtown - Borrrrrrrring...

MYX Milwaukee a great station? Is this a joke?

Sure there's a good live and local morning show, but then:

a 2 hour voicetrack shift by the morning show producer/APD,

then a 4 (live?) hour show from 11-4,

Seacrap...er..crest from 4-7,

then 5 hours of god help us all Delilah on a HOT AC.

Way too much non local programming to be considered quality radio by most standards. Very sad.

Much love to 103.7 KISS-FM

"to be considered quality radio by most standards."

Except the "making money" and "dj's are all lazy" standards that smart
management uses.

Favorite stations/dj's that do it for me:

WGN-AM Garry Meier & Steve & Johnnie
WLS-FM Dick Biondi and Danny Lake's Saturday party show
The Drive Bob Stroud and Bobby Skafish

I "bump" Soul 106.3 because they play the best house music& R&B and 87.7 Smooth Jazz. When I am at home or going out to a party WQHT97.1 and WWPR105.1fm. ;)

Where I live, 25 miles NNW of Chicago, Soul 106.3 doesn't exist. At all. Nor does it exist where I work well north of Chicago. I get WJMR 98.3 from Milwaukee more often at my house than Soul 106.3 - and that's despite the presence of 3 other signals on 98.3 that come in now and then! Honestly, they have zero signal in my area and are thus irrelevant in my ranking system.

If Crawford was smart, they'd swap the formats and intellectual property of 106.3 and 92.3. Why? Because, with Joyner and with V103's big ratings, they have a real chance at making some inroads with a decent signal that covers the market (for the most part). The signal on both 106.3's is too spotty and they'll NEVER get big ratings on it. As for Power 92.3, they have never performed all that well. And, their format is shrinking in a PPM world, there's less room than ever before for them to coexist with WGCI.

Just my 0.02, but that's the way I see it.
