True. The positions that were eliminated were non-essential as the new company runs much of the billing and traffic and web out of a central location. It sucks, but that's life in TV these days.
One has to wonder what the new company has in store for KWWL. No one seems to know much about their news philosophy. Will KWWL still challenge KCRG for supremacy?
New KWWL news director has plenty of experience in eastern Iowa
By KELSEY HOLM, Courier Staff Writer
WATERLOO --- Just weeks after welcoming new owners and a new general manager, the KWWL-TV staff now has a new news director.
Jon Okerstrom served as assistant news director at KWWL for two years and replaces former news director Bob Smith, who left the station in May. Prior to joining KWWL, Okerstrom served as assistant news director at KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids.
