HOUSE-Different Theme Music in Syndication

I started watching an episode of House lin Syndication last night and it had a noticeably different theme. Did it have a different theme in the very beginning of the seires or could they not get clearance for their own music?? The theme is dramatically different and not nearly as good with all due respect...Anyone know what's going on with this?

Here's my theory:

What you are hearing is likely a composition known as "House End Credits". Apparently they use that in areas where they couldn't get performance clearance rights to run The Massive Attack's cut "Teardrop" as the theme song (like they do on FOX.) I'm guessing the rights to run "Teardrop" for the syndicated version are probably unavailable or in dispute so they run the "End Credits" song instead.

When viewing the syndicated version of the programme (with the other theme music) via KPDX on Sunday nights, I notice that the closed-caption track still indicates "(music notes) [Massive Attack's "Teardrop" playing]". Interesting.......

Also see this bit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_(TV_series)#Theme_music

I get the show via KMAX, KBCW, and WAGA and yes, they to carry the generic syndicated music theme due to royalties to the FOX version and for that matter, the DVD set, they have to use the generic credits theme instead.

The alternate theme is also used on most, if not all, overseas broadcasts of 'House'.
The rights for the Massive Attack cut are solely for Fox network broadcasts.

To the contraire, USA Cable (which owns the off-network rights to the show) also uses The Massive Attack's "Teardrop" over "House"'s opening credits, in addition to The Current Season Episode run over at FOX. Some Fox TV stations around the country (Including KRIV in Houston) also own the weekend rights to carry "House" as well.

I have a roommate who came from Kenya and when we watched a new House together for the first time, he commented on the different theme music used on Fox.
