Houston" #1 Spanish station KLOL

As I have been informed KLOL posted higher numbers in the last PPM weekly . I am amused how David continues to brag about a situation where Univision copied Mega with Amor 104.9 and continue to trail Mega. It's not unexpected that Mega would show declines after Univision copies the format and intensifies its TV marketing for all of its radio stations.

One important point is Amor is not even close to Mega. David please post how Amor is doing versus Mega.

KLTN has decreased the deficit with Mega but not by growing its own numbers. If anything KLTN continues to underperform eversince PPM started measuring the market. What David and Univision need to be fearful of is KTJM which is closing the gap with KLTN in the Regional format.

I would sure love to see how Univision would compete if they didn't have 3 FM Spanish stations and 2 TV stations.

As of last week Mega continues to win regardless of what David wants to post. Remember David nobody buys 12+. Isn't that what you have always preached?

How is Univision doing in revenue? At the end of the day that's the real measuring stick.

No it did not, so your other conclusion have no base.

12+ off 0.2 from week 2.
25-54 flat, but off to a 4.5 from a 7.2 4 weeks prior.

I was doing that format on HCRM in Quito in 1964. And Univision's WKAQ-FM is widely recognized as the first Top 40 in the US, and it dates back to 1968 when the same format started on WKAQ AM.

and continue to trail Mega.

And it is trailing by less and less each week. It's only 7 weeks in, by the way. Mega is in its third format, and two years of trying.

It's not unexpected that Mega would show declines after Univision copies the format and intensifies its TV marketing for all of its radio stations.

Particularly since we have 40 years or more of experience in the format.

It's doing a lot better than Mega, thanks for asking. That is the ssame reason KEGL changed in Dallas.

The downward spiral is very evident. Not sure what rose colored glasses EZ is looking through, but if I were at Mega, I'd be very concerned about what's happening over there. Plus with the sale/trade coming soon, it's over for Mega.
They had a small taste of success and now will be bottom feeders like they were with the other 3 formats they have tried in Houston. The bottom line is Univision has the resouces, the stations and the synergy to beat off any attack, especially from a stand alone station. It's logical Mega would be successful for a bit until Univision repositioned their cannons and pointed them in whatever direction they need to be fighting off an attack.

As a former VP of Liberman, I can say that Lenard has a great business model for today's radio, and executes his vision quite successfully. The business model is near-perfect.

HA!! Its perfect when trying to run roughshot over his employees and yet pay the bank back on its loans (Ya think Liberman has paid off the notes?? Nope, the Zion Bank of S CA own LBI when it comes to the money in a literatal sense)

Lenard is sharp but has poor people skills (learned them from PAPA Jose...who spends money like there's no tomorrow when he COULD be making more)....thats why the those who arent "tough skinned" and ready to be burned in more than one way use LBI as a holding place and bail at the 1st chance...the place is a hell hole sweat shop when it comes to employees...NO matching in its 401, doesnt pay OT when required by FEDERAL law (LBI lost a lawsuit recently on that BUT SWORE they didnt owe any OT) and if you are white and non Jewish, prepare to be treated like dirt...

PERFECT business model?? If you consider that to be screw the employees, screw the customer and make the most money out of turnips that you can....

His model is based on the position that there is room in any market for a low cost alternative... some call it bottom feeding. Lenard fills that position, and the business model is excellent.

A business model does not contemplate people skills or integrity, just a method of doing business. Oh, Lenard is in 100% compliance with his loan covenants and I believe he is actually ahead in amortizing principal.

Trend or no trend. The facts are quite simple. KLOL is currently the # 1 Spanish station in Houston. Revenue wise KLOL is pacing up over 75%. Univision is down. All done without sister tv stations.

I realize these facts are tough to swallow David, but this is todays scoreboard!

Liberman is a joke of a company and will never be taken seriously. It's run like a small market comapny performs like a small market company

Look at Liberman's overall revenue growth and his margins. That company is no joke.
