Houston Analog shut-off times

Fill in the missing times for the stations.

English:
KPRC 6:30
KUHT 6:30
KHOU 6:30
KTRK 6:30
KTXH ?
KLTJ ?
KRIV 6:45
KIAH ?
KPXB ?
KNWS ?
KTBU ?

Spanish
KXLN ?
KTMD ?
KAZH ?
KZJL ?
KFTH ?

A little off topic but KLTJ 22.1 must have upped to total digital power tonight. Previously I was getting them at around 75% on my Dish DTVPal "DVR" and it now shows 95%.

Apparently both KUHT/8 and KLTJ/22 have already shut down the analog as of a 5am check this morning. No sign of them on an OTA analog set.

Looks like LPTV KHLM/43 flipped yesterday. LPTV channels 21, 33, and 34 still on analog at the same check.

I can confirm this. Nothing but snow and white noise on 8. I understand they flashcut back from 9 to 8, right?

That ended 56 years of analog broadcasting on Houston's channel 8...

As I type this KHOU/11 is interviewing one of their engineers at the Missoury City transmitter.

I wish I had one TV set for each channel...

And now, all the main stations from 11 to 39 have turned off their analog transmitters. 2 is on nightlight mode. CHannels 45 to 67 (what I call the "spanish/independent band") are still on analog as of this typing.

Channel 26 was the last to shut off. Their video (but no audio) came back for a few seconds and then, slowly, the image "melted away" into snow. What a fitting end to analog TV in Houston.

And so, after 60 years of analog television in Houston, those signals are now gone forever. Salute!

Then again maybe 3 years from now we'll start receiving those signals bounced back from space! ;)

Here's actually what happened

English:
KPRC 6:45 (nightlight station)
KUHT 3:58
KHOU 6:45
KTRK 6:45
KTXH 6:45
KLTJ (?)12:00-1:00
KRIV 6:46
KIAH 6:45
KPXB (?)7:00-7:15
KNWS still on
KTBU still on

Spanish
KXLN still on
KTMD still on
KAZH still on
KZJL still on
KFTH still on

I forgot to check at midnight but KLTJ signed off by 1:39--no more Daystar unless you have a digital converter box for broadcast or cable. KUHT was in the middle of a show promo when the transmitter was shut-off without much ceremony or notice.KPXB is off the air but KBPX is still on.Ironically troublemaker KVQT is making the switch today.

At this moment, my analog OTA set is tuned to KBTV.I get good audio but a bad B&W picture (rolling bars, static, etc.) from Katy. They said on the news earlier that they're turning off at 9:00.

Channels 45, 47, 51, 55, 57, 61 and 67 still on in analog at a 3:45pm check. Of course they will be gone by midnight.

LPTV KVQT/21 still on in analog but with a graphic (in Spanish) stating they will switch to digital at midnight.

LPTV's KBPX/33 and KUVM/34 still on in analog. KHLM/43 made the switch yesterday.

Or rather, someone in England would. (Those who know KPRC's history would understand.)

That could explain KVQT's momentary disappearance this morning. I don't know Spanish but I guessed that they were telling their viewers about the (voluntary) flash-cut this morning. I guess we'll have 33 & 34 left after the transition, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're gone too. KAZH signed off some-time ago and KXLN is signing-off at 23:00. KTMD and KFTH both probably signed off at 22:30. I'll be back at midnight for an update. I'm surprised that the UHF band didn't sign off at the same time as the major network affiliates.

Anyone know what date and time will KPRC-TV will finally sign-off when they finish the instructional loop?

Telefutura 67 went off roughly at 10:30PM and Telemundo 47 just now.

Only 45, 51 and 55 remain.

tick tock tick tock tick tock...
61 is still on the air with an infomerical.

What did 67 and 47 look like when they signed off?  Commercial or countdown?
