Houston Christian Radio

For those of you in Christian radio, today is the last day for Paul Baker on KKHT, 100.7 The Word. For the last 16 years, Paul has held down the morning slot, on KKHT through it travels from 106.9FM, to 1070AM, and now on 100.7FM. Paul has been in radio for over 50 years, starting his radio career in rock 'n roll around the country, before transitioning to Christian radio.

Paul called me in late 1997, when 97Talk-FM ceased it's time on the rotating 97.1 FM format wheel. He said, "I heard you were available. How would like to play Christian music on Sunday afternoons?" That's how I came to be at KKHT.

Now, Paul has decided to hang up his earphones and retire. I wish Paul the very best in his retirement. I'm sure his wife Debbie will be glad to have breakfast with him during the week.

Beginning Monday 2/28, Marsha Lambeth will move from middays to the morning slot. Marsha, an Alvin native, got her start at KACC and moved to KILT and then on to KTEK. When Salem bought KTEK, she stayed and moved over to KKHT to continue Christian radio career.

Best Wishes to Paul!! I'll miss the quick chats Bill, Bruce and I had with him in the hallway most mornings for the past few months!

Congrats Paul!!!

Blaine
