Houston could use a station like this

We all know our market has little variety and a lot of format holes.....and WNTR in Indy has this station, (they are also without a classic hits/oldies station)and it seems to be a little of everything, to me it sounds much like stations in the past who had a few genres in their music variety. I like it.

Check out the playlist, lots of unplayed stuff around here:

Try KULF1090. If they get enough support, maybe they will see the wisdom of staying oldies. Gee - Indy, Los Angeles, New York, San Antonio, Dallas - how many other cities have oldies / classic hits and we have - NOTHING worth listening to. Except Sirius XM sixties on 6.

KULF won't. I don't see it. It is destined to be another brokered station. Although, I have been listening to it this weekend, at least the music is refreshing. The canned station ID approximately every 30 minutes is terrible. It rides over the music no matter what is playing on the air.

I suspect what they have going is an ipod and a CD with a 30 minute track of silence except legal ID running in continuous mode. Would be nice if it was permanent but I really doubt it will be.
