Houston history help.

I have been doing some research on the history of Houston Radio and I am having a hard time finding dates for formats on some AM stations.

Could anybody help me with my research and some dates. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

T.J.

Go to this website. Look at the right and scroll down in the green section and you'll find AM Chronology. It is broken down into the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. You will also discover histories of many of the Houston area stations. The site is compiled by a former Houston broadcaster. Explore, learn and enjoy. By the way, you WILL find it enjoyable!

Re: Houston history help. Houston's AM Top 40's

Hey Chuck:

Thanks for that info. I have been on that site many times already and it is fantastic!! I even got some old radio listings from the 40's and 60's. But there is some info that is not on there that I am looking for as well.

I have made a list of the past Top 40 AM's of the past in the 50's 60's and 70's:

1. KILT 610: Tues May 14, 1957 to June 1981. Would anybody know the day in June it went to country?

2. KTHT 790: Dec 1958 to June 1962 As The Mighty 790.

3. KNUZ 1230: Feb 15, 1957 to April 2, 1973.

4. KXYZ 1320: May 7, 1956 to May 26, 1960.
