Houston Locals and Dallas Locals via Dish Network

I recently lived in Dallas and had Dish Network there and noticed most of their locals had ghosting in the picture quality and sometimes co-channel interference on FOX 4. Do they pickup the Dallas locals via an outdoor antenna and then uplink it via satellite to dish network?

I live in Houston now and their locals are amazingly clear and sharper. I heard the Houston locals are uplinked directly from their studios via satellite.

Just curious, thanks for your help or comments

The only Houston local that looks bad on E* is KTBU-55 "The Tube" They seem to be using the analog signal from Splendora which has some ghosting. They should use the SD Digital signal from Missouri City. It would look much better. I don't have much experience with the others since I have a VIP622 and watch most locals (digital) over-the-air.

I live in the Dallas area and have had Dish Network for almost 8 years.
I have never had any ghosting on the local channels ever. Just
lucky I guess.

Yeah, channel 55's quality does look bad. It looks like the video modulation is too low. It looks much darker than the other channels.

I just recently added my locals to my Dish account. Most of the time they look really good, but there are some few times when you can see some slight ghosting on 5 and 11. 8 is always clear as a bell, and 4 looks very good (better than my old beat-up outdoor antenna can pull in). The UHF stations all look very good as well.

I still have the antenna, though, for those days like a couple of weeks ago when it seemed we were going to get flooded out...and rain fade kills the satellite signal.
