Houston radio decals

Does anybody have any decals or promotional items from Houston area stations? I'm building a pretty good collection from stations nationwide, but am having a hard time getting much from Houston stations. There are several Houston stations that I would like to have in the collection. If anyone wants to trade stickers I have plenty of extras I'd be happy to swap.

I know people that have some stuff from the CC and Radio One stations, but those stations have never sent anything to me. I do have stickers from the CBS stations. If not making promotional items anymore is really the case, that's a shame. You'd think a top-10 market would find it in the budget to promote itself better...especially the way radio seems to be on life-support now. I was just hoping there were some radio gear collectors from over the years around here like I've found on other boards.

I think Univision is one of the few groups that still do stickers.

It's hard to find places that let you distribute them anymore.

With the current state of Houston Radio, it is not surprising that no bumper stickers are available, do they know it mainly sucks? hmmmm.

I used to have a Majic 102 T-Shirt that I got at the Tom Joyner Sky Show, I have a plastic bag that says KSJL 92.5/810 AM that I got from the same show.

I also had a 104 KRBE T-shirt I ordered online in 1999.

I have Power 97.5 "All Your Favorite Jamz and $1000 a day" Bumper Sticker somewhere at my pad.

There's a bunch of very faded Power 104 stickers all over lamp posts on my street.

Could you take a picture of those?

There is a faded and scratched off Jammin 105.9 bumper sticker on a lamp post in my neighborhood in Austin.

I have a used blue Power 104 sticker somewhere. Used meaning it was stuck somewhere and later pulled off. Adhesive is no good

I have new unused Power 104 stickers, Classic Rock 1070 stickers (world's first CR station), Z107 stickers, and...other junk like dat from this market. Send me a stamped, self-addressed envelope & they are yours. Message me for address.

Does anyone know if 106.9 The Zone released any stickers or stuff like that?

I have bumper stickers from KILT and KIKK from the 90's including the "KIKKup Truck" and "Proud to be a KIKKer" versions. I may have some of the newer KIKK pre Young Country as well. I think I have some X97 from Bay City. I have a couple of the Oldies 94.5 Beetle stickers as well. I may even have some Corpus Christi stickers if you're interested in that market. I'll have to dig these up and make sure I have a couple extras. PM me.

I saw shirts, cups, banners, and signs but no stickers during its existence.

As discussed upthread, stickers have fallen out of favor with a lot of stations because they're hard to distribute. A lot of businesses don't allow stickers to be distributed on premises because they end up stuck to their property. If you're going to spend money on giveaways, you want to spend money on stuff you can actually give away.

I still have my "Tooth Fairy" bumper sticker from KULF, from the 60s. ;D

Way off topic, but I now have a Gulf gas station within a few streets of my house. It's been MANY years since I've been able to say that. When did Gulf start making its way back to town?

Sorry. Back to topic. Only old bumper sticker I still have is the "93Q" sticker I stuck on the bumper of my parents' 1968 Plymouth. Still have the car, too.

What model of Plymouth do you have?

Fury III. It's a big ol' 4 door boat. Too bad the folks weren't sporty. The 2 door version of the car is actually worth some money.

Still, it's a big car. I liked those big cars. That's why I have a 2005 Chrysler 300; it's big! I got it when my mother died as it was her car. Why do you still have it? Does the radio work?

It certainly is big. I keep it for sentimental reasons. The car has always been a part of my life, and I just couldn't see the point of sending it to the crusher. My God, if I had a nickel for every time I was in the backseat of that car @ the Airline Drive-In, I'd be able to buy a couple of cases of beer. It has been garaged for the better part of 20 years now. I rebuilt the engine and tranny back in '99, and it will still run if I actually went out there and turned the old girl over. As a matter of fact, the old in dash AM with push button still works. Buttons are still set as they have been for over 30 years...and yes, the 3rd one is set to 1070. I'm pretty sure that was originally designated for country as KENR. Like the old saying goes, Momma had two kinds of music she listened to, Country and Western. I know that's why 1230 is on the 1st button. K-NUZ was her station of choice. As corny as this sounds, I used to actually turn it on and listen to Crazy Al's Saturday night rock and roll oldies show you use to air on 1070 a few years back, while I sat in the garage and downed a couple of cold ones. Just to hear the old songs coming from that car's speakers again was quite a treat for this ol' geek.
