Houston Station's HOV-Lane Stunt Backfires

Listen moron, I'm tired of all this bashing on the board. Your clever little title is wrong. Nothing backfired idiot.

Dean and Rog did what's called a radio stunt. It's to get publicity and look what you are giving them. You posted an article from a TV station. Bingo. Publicity.

Now people are reading about what a funny stunt the duo did. I don't see a backfire now. I see a good radio station getting media attention and more listeners.

The only stations that seem to know how to generate interest are:
The Arrow - this stunt
Mega 101 - for giving birth to a new format
The Buzz - Relief shows
Mix 96.5 - Getting a real morning show for the first time with Sam Malone
KTRH - Breaking news stories
KBME - Breaking sports stories
KODA - Winning arbitrons

I don't see anyone else doing anything good enough to get the gaze of TV or newspapers.

TheClearAnswer has spoken and generated some buzz too

Haha, I heard that. I thought it was pure comedy! Though I work for the competition, that was a pretty funny thing to do. They should of had the mannaquin's head sticking out the window and then have their stunt guy rip it off right before the officer pulled him over. Good times!

Dear ClearAnswer,

Why is it you think everyone else is a moron? Can you not show just a hint of respect for anyone? Give me a break.

In the first place, the "clever little title" is a direct quote from the television station's website...not something that the person you referred to as an "idiot" came up with.

Also.. other stations do make the news from time to time for their promotions.. i know for a fact that KLDE did it recently with its hot dog eating contest for world series tickets... as well as numerous gas giveaways.. I have also seen a variety of non CC stations featured both on television and in newspaper.

Finally.. the last time I saw Mega 101 featured on television was when they had Bo Corona talking about the guy falling off the stage at a concert. It was a result of some poor guy's misfortune not because of any great radio promotion or stunt.

Have a nice day.

The Wave made some news recently with it's big birthday bash in Galveston. As far as KBME is concerned, since it was brought it up, it is not doing it. The audience for sportstalk was already small and continues to be small.

The fact is, Kevin, we shouldn't even bothering replying. He posts to get a rise out of folks. When we respond, his dopamine levels goes way up, because he empowered us to respond. Let him post and do not respond.

I agree about not responding, but occasionally I just have to say something and then I'm ok for a long time...and I'm not crazy about people who intentionally trash other people for their opinions or comments.

Oh yeah. I hear ya. Sometimes, it makes ya wanna say, "Why not meet me outside and we'll settle it the good old fashioned Texas way."

That's funny.
I wonder if Clear Channel will make him pay for the ticket.

I usually just ignore it. I kind of like how I bothered it so much.
