Houston Talkradio

Are there simply too many talk stations in town? Might that be the reason that NONE do especially well?

Also, did Chris Baker have good numbers or not?

I always heard Chris Baker had good ratings... better than Sean Hannity at the time of the day they aired.

Of course, that could have changed.

Did anybody post the reason that Chris Baker is not doing his two shows anymore? It was said that Michael Berry canceled his shows (on a Monday, which was weird), but why?

Two words: CHEAP.......eeeeerrrrr CLEAR CHANNEL!!!

(Need we say anymore???)

Whenever I hear Chris Baker, I always expect to hear a "you know you're a redneck when" joke.

Sounds like a cross between Dr. Phil and Ed Schultz.

I have to say it-- I believe it was about money.

If it WASN"T about money, then they would have replaced him with another host.

Instead, they spread out other shows to cover it.

That tells me something.

Even the cheapest company WON'T get rid of someone who is making more money for them than he is costing them.

I'm not so sure I agree with that. I've seen it happen.

Unfortunately, the concensus is that Chris made a nice, fat paycheck... and didn't bring in THAT much advertising.

In the end... the company thinks it wins.

The ratings were OK for Chris. Basically about mid pack like most of KTRH. Better when baseball is on than off.

Baker did a great job for his advertisers. I know for a fact that revenue is down for KTRH after losing Baker. It was nothing but a money issue for C.C. on Baker, not ratings.
