Houston's 55 adding a subchannel?

on digital now at 55.1 and 55.3. Nothing is showing on the second channel but it does have a signal.

Anyone know anything?

What would you like to know? 55.2 is not on the air yet but will have asian programming and 55.3 will be called nation tv and will offer christian programming 24/7 and is set to launch feb 1st! Anything else?

No offense but I was hoping for more mainstream programming such as RTN.
How about something in HD? It could still support 2 additional subchannels.
I believe KETH has the religious programming market covered with its 5 subchannels.
Asian TV-probably a good idea. Not something I will ever watch but Houston has no Asian OTA TV.

Not to get too of topic but an Austin radio GM once told me if there were enough HD Radios out there you could convert an entire FM signal to HD radio and get NINE programs in the full bandwidth of one FM station.

BTW-- the HD in HD Radio actually stands for Hybrid Digital but the manufacturer hopes to ride the Hi Def TV craze.

While there is still plenty of research to be done, I would welcome it eventually happening. I the sound quality is far better.

now only if KNWS could get its but in gear, by adding some sub channels or at least getting their digital signal to work.

That station is down to almost nothing. Their regular programming block now consists of 7p til 11p. Occasionally and totally random Roseanne and Cosby will come on at the actual time they were originally scheduled (4:30p) but again, this is totally a crapshoot.

I didn't expect TV55 to add subchannels but this just seems to be a waste of bandwidth. One of the subs would've been much better served with RTN but of course we need yet another spanish language station.
