Houstons power still seems weak to me

I was out at my place out in Lavaca county, I still think Houston stations seem to be weaker than once was. Funny thing though, my truck radio can pull in 92.9, 94.5, 95.7, 96.5, 97.9 fairlly well, but the rest 99.1, 100.3, 101.1, 104.1 is hard to pull in.. Of cours though with my outdoor antenna 20' up I can pull them all in like a local. Did they do something diffrent maybe a pattern change?

I am going down there tomorrow for a week. I'll be testing some range as I come into town. My bet is - every station running IBOC will be weaker than they used to be.

All of the mentioned stations except for 97.9 are running IBOC. The problem could be co-channel interference. The directional antenna pointed towards Houston would definitely eliminate co-channel interference from a reasonably strong signal. As I previously stated, the Houston signals seem to be normal to the east of town with most crapping out somewhere inside the city of Beaumont on I-10.
