Houston's The Tube Ch. 55

I saw a recent article in the Houston Business Journal discussing the transfer of ownership to the new buyers. They indicated that there will be major programming changes after the first of the year. Has anyone heard anything else?

The new owners also own the America One network, which seems to consist mostly of LPTV's. I'm thinking we may see 55 clear a lot of that programming.

KTBU had a hopeful start in 1998 with reruns and syndicated fare 16 hours/day, while infomercials took up the remaining eight hours. Those numbers are reversed now, so any change will probably be a positive one, though I doubt we'll see any major impact on ratings.

KTBU could still be headed for a duopoly with either KPRC/KHOU/KTRK if and when the new owners decide to bail.
