Something alittle different, recorded ota in (probably) summer 1988. It's an indication of how much power these guys were using that their signal made it from the wilds of Brooklyn into my highrise canyon on the u.e.s. of Manhattan.

Their "station" was on usually Frii-Sat-and Sunday nights and because I worked in theater, I was almost never home in time to hear them, yes, I did work seven days/week.

One of my favorite guests was Tommy Edison who allways brought airchecks, on this recording you'll hear what was probably a "trade" recording of station WIRE -a small 250w AM dt in Annapolis MD. It's somewhat poignant to remember a time when a station like this, whose TX was about the size of my refrigerator, could not only be viable but dominant.

I wonder what has since happened to it.

Anyway, something unusual from the "golden age" of NY pirate radio.
