How about B's big #1 weekend?

Where is Jal41 on this? Sleeping late?

I was out of town the past few days.

This is nothing to write home about. They do themes once or twice a month (they did an all-80's weekend two weekends ago). This is their playbook, which very seldom changes. There is actually something to write home about when a new song is added (or playlist change).

I was hoping the new PD, who appears to be an outside-the-box thinkeer, would start some changes. But as long as there is a Bob in the CEO chair...

I LOVED it. Probably showing my age here, but I heard New Kids on the Block (which I also heard on Star this weekend too). Then I heard Cher. Then I heard Ray Stevens' The Streak. Freaking fantastic. I had B on all weekend until Delilah came on. Good stuff and great programming. They had me all weekend.

I agree too, it was good. Why can't they do more of this everyday?

All this must have something to do with it being a holiday weekend. They used to do special stuff like this here in Arizona for a holiday weekend, but not anymore, and usually never on a lite rock / soft rock station.

They seem to play some interesting stuff on B98.5, but I still like how our 99.9 KEZ is formatted much better.

99.9 KEZ current playlist

1. Miley Cyrus - The Climb
2. Taylor Swift - Love Story
3. Leona Lewis - Better In Time
4. Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
5. Daughtry - What About Now
6. Coldplay - Viva La Vida
7. Alicia Keys - No One
8. Fray - You Found Me
9. Lifehouse - First Time
10. Seal - If You Don't Know Me By Now
11. Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah
12. Jordin Sparks - Tattoo
13. Pink - Who Knew
14. Nickelback - Photograph
15. Gwen Stefani / Akon - The Sweet Escape
16. Hootie & The Blowfish - Only Wanna Be With You
17. Matchbox 20 - Unwell
18. Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved
19. Peter Frampton - Baby, I Love Your Way
20. David Cook - Time Of My Life

LAST PLAYED

1. Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On
2. Billy Joel - Just The Way You Are
3. Five For Fighting - Superman
4. Carly Simon - You're So Vain
5. Daniel Powter - Bad Day
6. U2 - With Or Without You
7. Tina Turner - Missing You
8. Jimmy Cliff - I Can See Clearly Now

Most soft rock stations adopt a similar type of playlist where they incorporate a mixture of 70's, 80's, 90's and currents all at once (e.g. WBBQ, WMGF, WLTW, and KEZ). B98.5 is one of those stations that focuses primarily on 80's and 90's and today's music and whatever they don't play, they stick it into their "special" theme weekends. I expect B98.5 to start changing their playlist a little bit during the next several weeks and maybe as soon as tomorrow. I hope I'm not the only one that thinks that B98.5 is getting too repetitive.
