How about moving KKYX back to FM

Who remembers when KKYX used to be on 106.7? I think the classic country station should move back to the FM frequency. I am tired of the Nashville country scene, I love Texas country and classic country. This is south Texas! I'm sure surrounding towns and even the city of San Antonio would love to have KKYX brought to FM. What do you think?

I remember when 106.7 Was the Armadillo, but they must of lasted for a few years then changed to Smooth Jazz. I think though right now more than likely another hiphop station will come to town, since the beat is and has been number one for a long time.

I remember it. I had mixed feelings about it going to FM, and it seemed to struggle there. However, classic country is now one of the hottest formats. Kinda seems like everything old is new again! The question I have is where would Cox put it? 106.7 seems like the logical choice for the next format change, but it doesn't seem Cox is ready to give up on it yet.

I rarely listen to country stations, but I have flipped by KKYX-AM a couple of times lately. I heard dusty old country chestnuts from the 70's by artists like Donna Fargo and Conway Twitty. Reminded me of sitting in the bar my family owned as a kid and watching sad drunk people with 1000-yard stares put salt in their beer.

Hard to imagine that anyone who isn't within a half-decade of retirement or already retired wants to hear that stuff. But I guess the prescription drug companies are still making ad buys!
