How are the Asheville stations covering the storm

Regarding WLOS, they have plans to move their broadcast signal from Mount Pisgah to Pinnacle Mountain, in order to better reach viewers in Upstate SC. Was originally planned for October or November. Also it is a challenge to reach the tower on Pisgah via an antiquated trolley system. But the fact remains there is a null on the SC side to prevent interference with WBTW in Florence, also on RF13. Right now in Spartanburg, High VHF signals from WSPA, SCETV, and a low power WSOC translator from Crowder's Mountain are easier to receive than WLOS.
While this is analog, my parents and I took a small TV along one year, and we could get WBTV perfectly.

Before cable, we stayed in a motel that got WLOS and I think WSPA but not WYFF (or maybe it was WFBC).

We stayed with some people we knew, in rooms over their garage, and I remember being surprised they could pick up WSPA and WFBC, I believe it was called back then. The tall mountain behind their house should have blocked those two stations.

Used to be able to receive Charlotte radio and TV signals in Asheville, but it depended on what side of the mountain you were on, as terrain could block the signals. Now there are more low power signals that interfere. On the radio, 95.1, 96.1, and 107.9 from Charlotte are blocked due to translators. You may still pick them up in Hendersonville, except for 107.9 which is now blocked by NC public radio.
