How bad has GMAZ become?

I've been in San Diego for the last four weeks, but reading the posts over at azfamily.com it sounds like moving Amanda Jahn to GMAZ has turned it into a real circus. I heard that she even called 911 to report that a rock broke her windshield. How bad has this show become?

From what I have always read on azfamily website, most of the people that post in there hate any part of the show it seems like no matter who the person is. I have read their site off/on for many years and its always the same on there. So I wouldn't go by what they say there. Just my opinion.

I believe I watched this show a few times the last time I was in AZ. That's the one that sounded like they had no script! The male anchor was downright awful. No energy at all. The weather dude was o.k., more comedical than anything. But for some reason I got the sense, either the tele-promter was down...or they just didn't care that it sounded more like a lecture-cast than an actual news-cast! I believe there INDIE? If so, that would explain there approach.

It's become a trainwreck every morning. I moved to AZ a year ago. I knew I was in trouble when I woke up and heard 4 reporters in a row say, "Good Morning Arizona, it is Saturday!"

If she did that, she should be fired.

You heard only 4? Sometimes I have heard at least six different people say that on Saturday. I am still a big fan of GMAZ Saturday & Sunday. I think they should try to stick with the same news-reader permanently or at least both days every weekend. Olivia Fierro rules!

Actually, the trainwreck comment referred to the WEEKDAY GMAZ. Too many people, too many unfunny personalities on the weekday version.

As for the weekend GMAZ, I agree with you...Olivia rocks! I also agree on the newsreader position. Another possibility would be to have different (but permanent) people on Saturdays and Sundays. For example, Antwan on Saturday and Courtney on Sunday. I know that the reporters probably want to have the weekend off, but hey April works all day and all night on Saturday and Sunday to bring us the latest weather forecast.

Another comment...GMAZ should develop a really strong weekend team. Then, they could always flip the weekend team to weekdays and the weekday team to weekends. It worked in Columbus, Ohio!!!

Sorry I thought you meant they said that ON a Saturday. To say it's "Saturday" when it is "Tuesday" is weird.

You are so right about poor April! The Weather people in the PHX market are hard-working! While I don't watch all five local channels, it seems to me that (especially on 3 and 12) they could use more forecasters. We will see what happens with April's hours once she is married.

Sorry, my bad! But my first exposure to GMAZ was on a weekend and I really liked it. Then, I tuned into the weekday version, which is a trainwreck!

Well, 3 and 12 are the only ones with Saturday and Sunday am newscasts (15 has a Sun am only). So, their weekend mets work hard, particularly since they are doing live shots on the am newscasts. Also, it's interesting that Joe Dana on 12 is on Saturday am only (but not Sunday am).
