How bad is the 99X morning show?

Seriously. Leslie may be a sweet gal and a hard worker, but has there ever been a broadcast voice with a worse sense of humor...ever? And the other two...just please. And to think they have a premier morning talent on their staff in Tim Andrews and are too stupid to utilize him. Hey, Dickey Brothers: hands off and hire someone with a clue.

When the funniest part of the show comes from hearing the promo of the alleged "funniest part of the show" later in the day, you've got serious problems. I don't think unintentional comedy is what you're shooting for.
Just sayin'.

Tuned in the other morning to hear lispy producer Mark rambling on and on about his Ga football obsession. Jenners sounded like the point man. Sean chimed in ONCE, Leslie had nothing, and when Andrews jumped in, Sean cut him off quickly. It was BAD....REALLY BAD!

Memo to Rob Roberts: Dudes with a lisp should not be on the air, but guys with talent, ANDREWS, should be! Blow up 99x and start over. It's sad... it's like watching a champion boxer past their prime climb in the ring when they should've retired a long time ago.

It amazes me but it seems like Mark gets more airtime than Sean these days and the funny one gets almost no air time. Also interesting on how Jenners has evolved into the point.

Jenners has evolved very nicely into the point role. He's a talented, overly-maligned guy who got thrown into a difficult position. I like his contributions and his sense of humor.

Long time observer, never posted, but the constant 99X bashing finally made me register. While 99X is struggling, the morning show makes me laugh.
I would rather Jenners run point, and hear lispy Mark over Sean anyday. At least they talk about topics that are relevant. Could Sean sound any further from whatever demographic they are going for?
Jenners may be a geek, and Mark a redneck, but I can relate to most of what they have to say. Tim could be good on the show if he had more of a chance to interact, but it looks like he is already working on another job with Jimmy and Eric.

I am amazed by the number of first time posters that have popped up during the last week or so. More than the previous year it seems.

And more than one of them is named Wachs!

True! All radio personalities are insecure and sensitive. Makes you wonder who these newbies are... hmmmm.

We all know 99x screwed up when they didn't hand over the morning show reign to Toucher. Rich could've come back to Atlanta, Leslie could've retired to behind the scenes, and we wouldn't be bashing the Morning X today.

Somebody would be. What show doesn't get bashed?

I love Toucher and I listen to his show up on Boston. The reason why Fred left 99x was due to the fact that the local advertisers pull their ads from the show. It also explains the summer of Axel and Leslie - yuck. I turned off 99x on March 17th, 2007 and didn't listen until Oct. 2, 2007 just for the fact they screwed over not only Toucher, but JB and Wally as well. Sean Demery brings famailiarity to the morning show and I like his humor. Jenners is coming into his own. I think Leslie fits in well. Toucher needed to get out of Atlanta and with Rich will become the next super syndicated morning show for CBS Radio.

Demery always was a disaster. Recall the afternoon slot back in the day when his entire shtick was screwing up and then laughing at himself and pretending it didn't matter. No, that didn't get old at all! What he ever did to warrant a morning gig in a top ten market is beyond many of us.

Even though I have already stated that I am a first time poster on another topic, I truly am a "first time poster and a long time reader" of this website.

I listened to 99x from the early 90's until Toucher was fired. Even in the days when Melissa Carter would fill in for Leslie, I felt that Leslie needed to be replaced. It seems to me that any on air personality with Leslie feels like they have to earn the right to be on the air with her. It happened to Toucher and Wally to some degree, absolutely happened with Axel and is now happening with Jenners. How can a morning show get their groove with her on the air with them? It is like having the Grim Reaper riding shot gun with you on a night of heavy drinking.

I order to improve this morning show, Leslie needs to not be on air and I am not convinced that Sean is the right personality to complement Jenners. He seems like the male version of Leslie.

I don't get what's in this for Sean. He leaves a great job in San Francisco and his wife behind to basically become 2nd mic on a failing Cumulus station? Something doesn't add up. And now his wife moves but not to Atlanta? Is he really in this for the long term? And why has Jenners become the point when Sean started out as the point?

It seems like Jenners has taken the point because he's hungry and really wants it. Sean is like Fred Thompson--he'll show up and play the part as long as it doesn't require any heavy lifting.

Sean wasn't a good point. Way too flippant and not really keeping things on track. Jenners does a good job but Leslie just brings nothing to the table. On the cheap replace her with Jamie Massey. Far more interesting, fun and demo relevant.
