How Bad is the Whicker Show on Simon?????

i think he was referring to the artist formerly known as aj, who now goes by her (i guess) real name on the am show on wbli, long island.
 
i think the record will show that aj left the show 1st, but i know we all appreciate your helpful and thoughtful input.

I think I know to whom I was referring, D-head. Thank you for your helpful input with regard to the history of 98.7. The record will show that AJ has been gone for over a year, thus negating her departure having any impact on the show we are discussing today. (in the present)

Well a sucky station should have a sucky morning show, don't you think?!

Before I say anything, first lemme say that I probably know nothing about radio, it's just my opinion. I notice alot of people on this board talk like they are the authority. Wether it's true or not, I don't want anyone thinking that I am one of those experts.

A "movin" format or even a straight up Top 40 with a new morning show could do some damage to the "Hot AC" sounding KZL.

I've heard that there are some nice guys workin over at KZL, but I can't stand to listen to them. I shiver each time I hear one of their jocks talk (besides Murphy) or one of their crappy sounding promos.

So back to Wicker/Simon, I can't see them staying the same for much longer. And if they change formats, I can't see them sticking with the same morning show.

If Entercom was gonna try Country, they should've flipped Simon and not Oldies.
 
Maybe that will keep them from rambling on and on about nothing. Really, they need to only talk when they have something to say. They ought to can Skip the Prize Guy next.

Ding Ding! The 18 Month alarm just went off. Time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors and enjoy a new format on 98.7.

An ex-coworker (he's on-air) contacted me the other day asking my opinion about the the area, entercom group and more specifically 98.7. Though he wouldn't divulge too much info he alluded that there are some changes on the horizon. When I asked him if it was going hill-billy on me he replied with a good ole' "Hell No". This guy currently does AMD on a CHR.

I could be reading way to much into it or he could be B.S.ing me, but this guy has no real motives to do so.

Sounds to me like E-com's possibly about to flip another..

Why would they hire me SalesDozer, I didn't apply? Plus I've heard the female talent on that station and even though I'm not an on-air person, I don't have a 2 pack-a-day smokers voice, lisp or bopsy squeak about me... I'm overqualified!

Stay in sales Dozer (I assume that's what you do based on your name) but focus more on selling that posting at 2:06 during the day... ;D
 
I thought I heard Carmen from Hitz94's laugh on Simon this morning! I never listen long enough to hear much more. I totally disagree with Big Ape! I think Carmen has a ton of talent! She's witty, quick, funny, and has the gift of gab (with something to actually say!) She needs a little coaching, but there's a true diamond in the rough. She could make the difference in their mornings! AND...if Tina B is correct, she could even transition with a format change, especially if it's something edgy. SalesDozer really is a pill. Obviously works there and knows his/her product has problems, and doesn't want anyone to point it out. Hey SalesDozer, we're not the general public...it's OK! We hear things the average listener doesn't tune into. However, we can see the big picture and know when there's a problem. We're radio pros.
 
If they did bring Carmen in from 94.1 then they may certainly be preparing a transition or change. She really has a spunk about her. My thought would be expose her thru AM show now and give her Midday when their current format expires and they re-up with whatever format du jour they attempt. I'm sure it would be something younger and up-beat with someone like her on board.

If they are planning a change and exposing her now, I would think the new format would be a splinter of it's current format or else they wouldn't bring her on till the switch. For advertising revenue purposes I could see them forgoing the 2-Day stunting and relaunching with more of a rolling transition, changing musically and image wise but possibly even keeping the same moniker.

Here I was just minutes ago complaining about the female talent on that station and you bring about this encouraging news. You've got to give credit where credit is due, she isn't strong enough to help a show like Whacker, but put her in middays and she'd hold her own.

Perhaps she can do middays and my buddy I referenced earlier can do mornings. That would be a high energy airstaff!

Carmen was a descent jock and heavens knows she can't make that show any worse than it is. Am I the only one sensing some bitterness out of this salezclozer guy here?
