how Bonneville can save KTAR from obsolescence

1. Flip 92.3 to all-sports 24/7. That's when they get their younger demos (the same demos, apparently, who are hep to their yearly geezer-centric Christmas fruitcake special.) You can't be geezer-centric part of the time and then turn around and say you're #1 for 20-40. Not possible. Either you program for the geezers or you program for the young 'uns. And, yes, PPM can show a station's true colors - not good for 92.3 currently.

2. Flip 620 back to the format in which hosts field phone calls from listeners about news stories (I believe that format's called "talk radio," certainly not what 92.3 is right now.) Quit playing silly games between hosts and open up the phone lines to interact with your listeners: you know, those people who chose to listen to your silly chit-chat instead of listening to KJZZ or Eva or KFYI. Maybe even bring back that tagline, "We Need To Talk."

It's not outside the realm of possibility. Clear Channel runs the only 'real' talk radio station in this market, though I doubt it has been that difficult given the statewide embarrassment that 92.3 has become.

Nurse Jeff and I've spent countless hours running this well researched plan through the Akbarizer 3000 computer in order to determine whether it's within the realm of possibility. Our results will astound you, but to be perfectly honest, it's a rather lengthy explanation. Therefore we've hired one of America's best speakers to break it all down into plain old ordinary Joe speak: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvUh7iditac
