How can deliver an online show to a terrestrial radio station for re-broadcast

Hello to all,

We are about to launch a sports talk show on our site featuring a very well known former NCAA Division I head football coach.
We will be syndicating it to a couple of other sites and now we have a terrestrial station interested.

My question is what is the best way to deliver the program to the terrestrial station. The sites are easy. I just send them a link or they link to our broadcast center page. The terrestrial station could just click in as well and carry the internet stream via their control room PC, but there are delay issues organic to the internet plus being an FM I need to deliver higher sound quality to make it worth their while. I want to deliver a high quality stream to them in real time.

They do have Hotline codecs and ISDN but both of those are beyond our budget. We have several unused PC's sitting around so a software based solution usuing one of those could work. Whatever it is, the least expensive the better.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I hope I can help,The Higher the bit rate the less of a delay in the broadcast. You could start a stream around 196 and see if that works. I got a server I can set you up with a stream for the station, to see if that works. I hope I can help.

TMR,

Let's talk off the board. Send me some info and rates at [email protected]

I would second gunterm's suggestion regarding Audio Compass. You mentioned you had a PC. If the station has a PC wired to the board, you could load the Audio Compass software on the two PCs and, according to reports from others, get close to a studio quality connection (using speex codec @ 32kHz or 44kHz). Total cost for software would be around $200.

If you're interested, there is a free demo. Load the demo onto your PCs and see how it works. Also, if you call the product's contact number, you can speak directly to the designer who is quite helpful and enthusiastic about his product.

If you try this out, please post the results.
