How Can I Help??

Two-part post,

Classx, please quit changing your windows media player link. I have 107.9 Class X saved to my favorites, and 3 times the link has turned out to be dead. Now the title is reading, freeradio. Hope this isn't an indication of what's to come. Didn't listen to freeradio on 105.5, and definitely won't listen on 107.9.

First Broadcasting, Please invest a little $$ and webcast Max FM. I know the whole point is to "Buy cheap, move in, and make a big profit". But, and trust me on this, you WILL NOT gain an audience in your target market, if they can't pick up the signal on either freq. Plus, the fact that this so-called move in is now pushing THREE YEARS, isn't helping. I'm about to go back to listening to MP3's in Winamp if something doesn't change soon.

Those who say they are changing the face of Cincy radio, have so far proven to be Shakespearian LIARS. All I want for Christmas is listenable radio (VIA FM or internet). Sorry to be so blunt, but hopefully someone will freakin' wake up.

First took over the signals on May 14, 2004, a year and a half ago.

Webcasting isn't cheap - starting off you're looking at $100,000+ just in yearly webcasting royalties alone and that doesn't include everything else, not to mention bandwidth costs.

I'm just sayin'. Sure... things can be traded or bartered, but it can be a lot to handle and take care of just to pull a profit on a webcast.

It won't be MAX anyway

Mr. Fingerbenders,

MAX is a place to park a signal. That's all. Considering they run ot out of a computer in Dallas, I don't think they're concerned about the locals.

When the signal move is done, look for Radio One to take it over and do Smooth Jazz or Urban AC on it.

First os just parking Radio One's car until they get it fixed up. It's like "American Hot Rod", but for radio.

First Broadcasting owns an 80s formatted station in Sacramento California similar to the Max called The Flash 92.1 which does webcast. http://www.flash921.com/ This is the only station owned by them that does webcast.

Sorry about that. Our original link was being streamed from our tower site as a temp stream. We now have a a streaming host which caused our addressing to change. This week we had some internet equipment failures making our stream go down completely. It seems that we are back up now and the stream links should stay consistant. ClassX BTW will stay ClassX. The "FreeRadio" reference on our stream is a long story, but it will stay that way. We hope all is enjoying ClassXRadio.com. We have more tunes coming. We are adding to our library daily. Up to nearly 5,000 tunes. Happy Holidays!
______________

Thanks for the clarification. Really enjoy ClassX, hence why the link is saved to favorites. Better than what is on most over-the-air signals. Sorry for the aggression, sometimes the egg nog overrides the common courtesy. Glad to know ClassX is staying put. Keep up the good work.

Re: It won't be MAX anyway

Mr. Oscar,

You sure are one to correct others rather quickly before you have all information. I usually don't post, but on this i had to. Where did you get info that MAX is run out of a computer in Dallas? First Broadcasting is out of Dallas. I actually won christmas prizes from MAX & Friedman's Jewelers, and i actually saw the studios and computer that play the music when i picked up my prize.
I have been reading all your posts, and you sure do consider yourself a know it all on just about everything, kind of annoying actually. MAYBE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT ON THIS ONE....

Never heard of remote desktop?

The only thing there in Georgetown is a computer and one staffer left to babysit.

Mr. Mattmo,

Was that your first time inside a radio station?

It's quite possible for First Broadcasting employees in Dallas to call up the Cincinnati playlist and make changes to it from there.

How do you think CC employees voicetrack stations in other markets from Cincinnati? Gary Jeff Walker voicetracks a station in San Diego. Think about how he might be doing that.

I'm sorry your illusion has been shattered. But, that's the way it is.

Sorry I'm so smart.

Re: It won't be MAX anyway

I have heard of remote desktop? and yes i have been inside radio stations before. I have been employed by radio stations before, i just don't post messages on here that i am a know it all...
First Broadcasting doesn't do any of the programming in Dallas, it is done at the studios FOR MAX FM...

Do a little more research before you make assumptions, you know what happens when you make assumptions!!!!

Isn't it strange, you guys sure do get flustered when someone posts something or doesn't agree...

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GOD BLESS EVERYONE!!!

Dude, come on

Where's your proof that it's done locally? A former employee was on this board saying it was done from Dallas. Is he lying?

Nobody's getting upset except for you and all of your exclamation points!!!!!

Happy Hannukah!

Re: Dude, come on

Oscar,

I never call anyone a liar....but as long as someone posts on this board you are saying it is gospel??
Couldn't he have made a mistake...And weren't you quick to believe it, oh I forgot, IT WAS POSTED ON THIS BOARD, SO IT MUST BE THE TRUTH...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Re: Dude, come on

Actually... a conversation I had today revealed that it's done locally. When they first flipped it wasn't, but now it is.

And now we know.

Mattmo, did you read that?

Mattinradio (who used to work at WOXY) wrote the following: "a conversation I had today revealed that it's done locally. When they first flipped it wasn't, but now it is."

Can we believe him? IT WAS POSTED ON THIS BOARD! Gosh. I don't know if we can believe it. Maybe I can't even believe that you exist Mattmo! Are any of us really here? This is not my beautiful wife!

Bottom line: It was done from Dallas, it isn't now. What does it matter? I say it again: It won't be MAX after the signal moves to Mason. Radio One will flip it to Smooth Jazz or Urban AC. Maybe 99.5 and the 97.7 in Salt Lick (when it moves from Georgetown) will keep MAX going for ya!

Re: Mattmo, did you read that?

More likely Urban A/C than Smooth Jazz if Radio One does get them..based on surrounding markets.
______________

Re: Mattmo, did you read that?

Oscar,
Looks like you've got another one hot & heavy for you.
Just to clarify this one up, Programming was NEVER done from Dallas. The decision to flip formats came from Dallas. 100% of what aired since flip was done locally. I know the engineer who actually installed the on-air & production equipment. so Oscar, sorry to prove you wrong!!! And MATTINRADIO is a pretty good guy, maybe he just didn't know, KEEP ROCKIN' MATTINRADIO... I loved you on WOXY 97X.....Would love to hear if you'll be on any Cinci radio station soon....

HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR AND I HOPE 2006 IS A GREAT ONE FOR ALL.

You didn't prove me wrong

You proved Matt wrong, IF what you say is true. I took his information as good because he actually worked there.

Actually, I tend to believe him more than you tuner. Still not clear what the truth is. Don't really care either.

Look for "97.7 The Chill" coming to a radio near you in 2006. Or not.
Edited by Oscar on 12/28/05 01:11 AM.

Re: You didn't prove me wrong

Remember Oscar, it was posted on Radio-info. so IT MUST BE TRUE!!!!

I still love ya Oscar.

Re: You didn't prove me wrong

If you want to call Matt a liar, then go ahead. I happen to believe he was correct. he may have been mistaken, but he wasn't lying.
