how can you have a directional two pattern AM with one tower

It seems WTAA is in the books for directional using the WMGM tower, I always thought you needed more than one tower for an AM to be directional...

Checking the FCC database it shows WTAA as a ND1 I did not see any changes in Power/commonpoint current
or Tower resistance. both day and night on the same tower. Very interesting I think the ND2 is a Typo.
