How did your EAS go?

By all accounts, it was a train wreck--and that's what I heard . I heard 3 stations execute correctly at 2 PM; those had the tone and the alert message running at the same time with what sounded like composites of other stations executing their message as part of the audio. I understand that many stations were minutes behind in executing their alert-- only 3 besides ours that did EAS at 2 PM; I quit scanning around the dial after about 3 minutes.

We got the test from our two feeder stations. Our EAS equipment sent it's test. Unfortunately, the message was so staticky and garbled up that I could not understand what it said. We operate in Northeast Georgia.

Atlanta got the Duck F&rts, the two tone, and then silence, followed by the EOM message. Silence was about 20 seconds or so. My stations passed decoded the alert, and aired the tones along with the silence.

Savannah appears to have run just fine, at least at my stations. Although my AMs did not air the EAN. Must have some wires crossed on the MSRPs.

Did stations who monitor WMAZ 940 Khz get audio embedded in the alert or was it silence like those monitoring WSRV 97.1 in North Georgia?
Who do you monitor in Savannah for PEP?

I monitor WQBT since they are the LP-1 and one of my stations monitors WJWJ out of Bluffton. My station WEAS is the LP-2 for the area.

WMAC 940AM worked as planned. All of the other Cumulus stations in Macon also relayed the message. There were problems however in the message as delivered from FEMA though. We did have audio and it could be understood.
