How do i get back in?

Ok so.... i did radio in Houston for a few years 98-03 and decided to try a smaller market i worked for the #1 station in the market and did very well in arbitron actualy #1 from 3-7 in every demo but, i've kinda starded missing home and im not sure where to start to get myself back in radio in Houston any suggestions?

If you can find an old Soundesign or Curtis Mathis, you might be able to get into one of those.

As far as employment, it's the beginning of layoff season so you may be able to get a job in a gun store or perhaps selling houses to hold you till spring.

If you are absolutely sure that you want to get back into major market radio, you need to get on the same wavelength as the broadcasting companies and their executives and consultants.

This would mean that you would have to have a frontal lobotomy. Sorry...that's just the way it is these days.

Traffic. Thats where the real talented radio go. Why? The Corporations who run the business don't want somebody who knows what they are doing on the air,and even more ..talented. They rather have the cheapest warm body they can find to read an 8x4 liner card and sign their name on a log. Once upon a time,it was called "radio". Not is an update of Charlie Chaplin's" "Modern Times",or Orwell's "1984".

More politely, the radio industry you left is no more.
If you would be satisfied doing narration at a board / workstation, it might be a good move.
