How Do They Sell Ad Time On The World Series?

And other similar type "Best of" events. (Best of 7 or Best of 5, I mean)

OK you have to play at least 4 games, so those are solid sales. So how do networks sell games 5, 6, and 7?

I assume it's some kind of conditional sales agreement. You'll pay only if the game is played. So if the World Series were to go only 4 games, this would mean instead of a 5th game, regular network programming would air. So do advertisers then get a choice to run their ads on the regular programing or what?

Also am I correct in assuming that ad rates for the 5th, 6th and 7th games probably cost less and less, because there is a chance it won't be aired if the games aren't needed?

Thanks
