How do you rate Dick Clark's Rockin New Years Eve?

You know? Dick is becomming like "The Wizard of Oz." Ryan teases that we'll see him the entire show, so they can bring him out for what, the last 20 minutes of the broadcast? I realize he survived a terrible stroke, and I'm glad we still have him around. But let's be real, it's not Dick Clark's show anymore, he just produces it.
As usual, ABC fails to take a lesson from NBC in learning how to move on from adversity. Take a look at how they handled the ABC News situation. But that's a post for another thread... The point is, it's time to give the show to Ryan Seacrest officially (or someone else), and move on.

I agree, Dick Clark should pass the torch. Kudos for his determination, but watching it has become painful and an all out buzz kill.
First, Happy New Year, folks! May 2007 be the best for everyone.
Seacreast reminds a lot of people I've talked to tonight a lot of a young Dick Clark, but he doesn't hold a candle to Clark, even in days past. Seacreast is a copycat, a talking head, no personality whatsoever. And I'm in the target demo who's supposed to like him; 18-49. I don't think so. I wouldn't say Seacreast is a [EDIT]
, but he needs to go back to radio and stay there.
Hard to watch Dick Clark in his condition? Oh yes, it was painful to see America's Oldest Teenager struggling because we all remember him (up to just before his stroke) as vibrant and lively. I think he's been very lucky, even in the shape he's in. And I was glad to see him on the air again this year.
He's still among the living (especially after a major stroke where too many folks do not make it through), and he got up there AGAIN for 2007! That takes a lot of guts, and I tip my hat to him for doing what he can. So if he wants to be on camera every now and then from here on out, hey, he's Dick Clark, he produces the show, (and doesn't he also own the show?). He can do whatever he wants, right?

Clark could be sitting in an oxygen bubble holding up index cards for all I care.... the guy is just that iconic in this country and New Year's wouldn't be the same without him. Must we kill off every tradition that the young-uns dont appreciate?

Am I the only one who thought Dick Clark sounded better and had more mobility this year?
And I wholeheartedly agree with RadioGuy2004. The coffee table in our living room has more talent than Seacrest. I really enjoy E!'s The Soup, especially when they make fun of Seacrest, and he works for E!.
This 25 year old hopes Dick Clark is around for many more New Year's Rockin' Eves. When he's not, I'm no longer watching it.

Come on, give Dick some credit. The man survived a near fatal stroke two years ago (just like the one I had 16 years ago). No, he will never be 100%. But I cannot imagine New Year's Rockin' Eve without Dick Clark. I'm glad he's still with us and hopefully will be with us for a few more years. Considering the fact that Dick is now 77 years old and is a stroke survivor.... he shows a lot of guts to get on camera and do the job he's been doing now for 35 years in spite of his impairment. To me he is an inspiration. And I'm sure many other stroke survivors will tend to agree, as well.

Dick Clark is a Icon. Has more talent then all of the other talent hosting New years specials combined. Radio and TV have a bad habit of letting those go who they (the research people) think we no longer want to watch. When Dick Clark wants to leave let him do it on his own terms. It is called RESPECT!!!! not ratings. Note to research dept. Loss of Dick Clark = loss of millions of viewers. I just don't get it... radio and TV does those programming changes, and yes....85-90% of the time it fails. Yes!!! I vote for Dick Clark for 2007..2008...2009...

Agreed that Clark is still a class act, stroke or not. I hate Ryan Seacrest as well. He's famous for a FOX series I've never watched a single second of (and never will).
BTW, was ABC's production in HD? WTNH-DT didn't seem to be working here in Connecticut at midnight. I know the production on FOX and NBC wasn't. ???
