I had to start a new topic here because most of the posts so far are planted from employees. Here is the Radio-Online story: WSTR-FM (Star 94)/Atlanta went jockless at 5:30am this morning and is airing promos saying that a new line-up will be announced tomorrow morning (10-12) at 7:20am. According to a memo from PD Dan Bowen obtained by RADIO ONLINE, "WSTR will be going jockless until further notice. Unfortunately, we are not at liberty to say anything more about this move at this time." Major changes or a stunt?

First of all... I really hope that they do not make major changes with the personalities.... I have been an avid listener of Star94 since I was a child and like many friends and I we continue to love Steve and Vikki in the morning now that we are in college and some in the workforce .. I really hope it is a stunt and nothing more to be honest with you.. maybe they will bring back Friday night 80s....

Gee twitch... look in a mirror. You started the postings practically before it was on the radio. The first 5 were intended to feed the rumor. Finally somebody noticed and suggested the stunt probability.

For what it's worth, Rodney is still claiming stunt:

http://www.accessatlanta.com/blogs/...iotalk/entries/2006/10/11/1011_where_are.html

"... But at 4:30 p.m., the Star staff was told it was indeed a stunt, that the “new lineup” they are going to announce is the Star 94 Jingle Jam Christmas concert “lineup.” Two acts I heard are the Fray and Hinder. In other words, it’s not a format switch or changes in DJs. It’s just a promotion. So Star fans, just enjoy a day of all music, no jocks.

Some Star employees, though, had taken it seriously and were worried and upset until they were told it meant nothing. Sounds like something Michael (played by Steve Carell) on “The Office” might do. "

Could "MOVIN" be coming to ATL just a thought
Speaking of "MOVIN", Star94 has been airing sweepers all day with songs that have the word "Move" in them. Hmmmmmm?

Well if Rodney’s info about the 4:30 meeting is true, then I can see why they didn’t tell anybody. How do you set up any surprise at all if there is someone who has to be the first to spoil it? Obviously someone at Star must have run to email, call, fax whatever Rodney to let him know.

It was a valid question, dude. How do you know that the people posting in the original thread are employees of Lincoln? I was just curious. Jeez!

Nobody's changing formats/personalities in the middle of the fall book...and especially not a station as successful as WSTR!!

BINGO!!

I'll put this as delicately as I can: You people who are even SPECULATING that it could be a format/major personality change are complete morons.

A) The station is doing fairly well
B) The station bills about a zillion dollars
C) As the previous poster accurately pointed out, you don't change things in the middle of the Fall Book.
D) Do you think if it was anything that major it wouldn't have somehow been leaked or rumored by someone in the building by now?

C'mon.

By the way, going back a few months ago, I thought Nooodge was going to do a morning show somewhere Wha What?

If it is the announcement for Jingle Jam 2006 then I know two other artists that will be at the concert. But I am not going to opne my mouth and tell who they are becuase I can tell you that this years Jingle Jam is going to be the best one yet in my opinion form what I have hear of the line-up.

Jingle Jam

HINDER, (?)
KT TUNSTALL, (white)
THE FRAY, and (whiter)
THE GOO GOO DOLLS (whitest...and...it just screams Vote for Clinton in 96!)
