How Does 1250-ESPN Respond?

My favorites are Stan & Guy, would love to see them go FM or at least crank up the watts at 1250. Sometimes I just can't pick them up.

With The Fan apparently passing on Ellis (I can't see him doing the overnight shifts)

I don't think they're planning to have live local overnight programming. Nor should they.

My apologies. I just heard they ARE planning to have local overnight programming. That's ambitious, and probably a waste of money.

In strictly dollars and cents terms, I agree. But now they can promote "All Local, 24 by 7", which might be a powerful message vs. the other stations.

I get your point, but they're using a machine gun to kill flies. The other problem is when they realize you can't make any money in the midnight-5 a.m. slot and take something off the satellite, they'll wind up undermining one of their selling points.

It appears that ESPN intends to capitalize on some of The Fans' hosts out-of-town origins. The latest promos have the tag line "Pittsburgh People Talking Pittsburgh Sports".

Chris Mack is a prominent part of the Drive this afternoon with Paulson and Logan, not sure if this is permanent or not. Stan and Guy talked about having a new producer this afternoon. Hmmm.

Mack is no longer on Stan & Guy's page and on The Drive's page. Eddie Crow is not listed there anymore.

On Smizik's latest blog, he says the Mack move is for good and that Crow is now the overnight guy on the FAN.

Unless there's been a change, Chris Mueller has the 2 to 6 a.m. shift on The Fan.

Smizik's blog suggested Crow would have been good there.

Yes, you are 100% right, I mis-read his blog.
