How does Amy Lawrence have a job????

Can someone explain this to me???

I was driving home last night, listening to ESPN radio, and they were doing their NFL picks for this weekend. And the other two hosts spent the majority of the time explaining to Amy Lawrence how the point spread works in a football game.

This was not a routine. She honestly did not know what laying 3 1/2 points meant. And this woman merits a spot on a national sportstalk network?? HOW?

It is an embarrassment to listen to her, and an insult to people in this business who work hard to earn their jobs.

simple....if she's on at night doing Gamenight, she's not on in most markets because the big market stations are carrying games so ESPN is just trying to fill time on the 1,000 watt pea shooters in the woods with 54 listeners

Except it's not just gamenight. She was on this past overnight, filling in for Jason Smith. She spews out tired old cliches, or information that seems canned and unoriginal. She puts out discussion topics that make you cringe, i.e. Would you want Rex Grossman as your starting quarterback if the Bears release him this off-season? THAT's a topic for discussion? Why not ask if you want John Mark Karr as your babysitter?

She is horrible, and, regardless of whether she's only on 1000 watt stations that reach a small audience, she is on national radio. Too many people, who actually have talent, struggle to reach that level, and she gets a spot??

So, again, my original question....How does she have a job??

She isn't the only one that need to be removed from that awful GameNight. I want her and Freddie Coleman off that. Rickard is somewhat tolerable, Rassillo is probably the one I do tolerate the most because he seems to be very knowledgable but he acts too cool to talk with anyone.

Anyone have a picture of Amy Lawrence? Maybe she's hot and we can forgive her...

Another pearl of wisdom from our overnight visit with Ms. Lawrence.

Speaking about the chances of the Cleveland Browns if they were to make the playoffs and face the Steelers, she exclaimed that she could not see the Browns rush defense holding Willie Parker under 200 yards.

Um, Willie Parker is out for the year with a broken leg.

You can't make this stuff up.

I wonder if ESPN knows how awful GameNight is? Freddie Coleman annoys the heck out of me.

I briefly heard Amy Lawrence on ESPN Radio overnight (as usual, I couldn't stomach her for more than 40 seconds). So, clearly, ESPN management doesn't read this board.

She still has her job, and I'm still shaking my head and grieving for all the other sports hosts who languish in their jobs, and wonder how she has a network position.

Dittos, dude! The woman is HORRIBLE!!! I would give Michele Tafoya a slot full-time, she's good.

She's on again tonight and the question remains. She is simply horrible. My heart goes out to the sports talk hosts on the local level who do their work, sound professional and can only dream of reaching the national stage, yet have to wait behind no-talents like Amy Lawrence.

If anyone at ESPN reads this please explain how she keeps her job.

ESPN radio makes you scratch your head at some of the moves they have made and won't make.

shes boring i cant stand listing to her
Well if you're listing, then you shouldn't be so concerned with the radio.
Check your ballast man!

This still makes me laugh, and I must have read it a dozen times.

It certainly made me check my own ballast, at least. And, upon further review, I am still fat.

But I do float.
