How does Mark Simone have so many celebrity friends?

His radio show was never huge, but he's friends with people such as, Trump, Clive Davis, Tony Bennett, Regis Philbin, Rudy Giuliani,
 
He most likely doesn't have all these people as personal friends. A good celebrity guest will treat their interviewer like they've known them for years. Been there, done that. Good PR for both sides.
 
He has been a speaker for NY Toastmasters for 25+ years. I think he said that is how he met Frank Sinatra. (and I am sure many others)
