How does Mike Sheridan know about all this hippity hop stuff?

In a hip hop quiz this morning on WCTK, Mike proved he knows his stuff. He knew what both "crunk juice" & "King Kong in the trunk" meant & answered without missing a beat. Aside from this worrying me, I think it's time he adopted a street name. Maybe M.S.Wheelz? What? What?

Its 'cause Mike is awesome

Maybe so but if I hear him starting to do road rap reports I'm turning in my license.

Ha, that would be an interesting event in the Metro office. Lets just hope someone is out that day so I can witness it.

You must not know'bout Mike. You must not know'bout Mike.

Oh I'm willing to bet those posting on this thread know Mike and have had the pleasure of working with him at various stations or at Metro. He's a good sport and one of the best liked people in the market. As far as hip hop being mainstream, yes in the sense that it's part of pop culture but those not into it do refer to the terms in an almost mocking sense. The fact that there's even mention of it on a country station attests to this. Don't confuse mainstream with an awareness of what's going on in the world. If anything Mike is getting Irish jig-gy with it.
