How does Rush Limbaugh in the Dominican Republic entertain a Boston audience?

Re: How does Rush Limbaugh in the Dominican Republic entertain a Boston audience

ha! Heard about this in radio news headlines tonight (forget what station). Talent-On-Loan-From-Oxy-Contin!
That's why they call him Rushhhhhhhh :)

::)

Jesus what a slow motion trainweck of a human being he is,....and guaranteed: he'll claim this is all part of a liberal plot to discredit him! Just goes to show, you can appear to have it all, ......but at the end of the day you're just another middle aged guy who cant get it up. Who at this point can listen to him and take him even a little bit seriously anymore?.

Schultz on Rush Limbaugh

I agree with you, Nik, and so does Ed Schultz who did a wonderful job of slicing and dicing el Rushbo today.

The problem is that the "right wing" continue to keep repeating their mantras - Joe Scarborough tonight
having a guest on to proclaim "Sympathy For The Devil" and "Won't Get Fooled Again" are "right wing" songs.
Which is like saying Metallica play heavy metal reggae.

I agree with you too sir. The thing about the right as you say is that there are the pundits and then there are also just the schills. Rush Limbaugh more than anything else is a schill in that this is his act, and has been for years. Guys like O'reilly seem (to me at least) more truly dedicated to the idea of this conservative right wing ideology, yes he's another blow hard who cannot be reasoned with, he just shouts down any opposition to his view. Whereas Limbaugh who started as a DJ and never really made it, and then tried sports, just found a niche and exploited it pretty early on when there was not the glut of conservative voices that you're hearing on talk radio now. In short I think it's show biz for this guy more than any real commitment to the ideology, he has made millions castigating the very same group that he's now a part of, drug abusers. Socially acceptable drugs they may be, more so than say heroine or crack but a drug abuser none the less, he just has no credibility. WE're all flawed and Im sure we all have our demons so to speak but if you make a career of shouting from the moral high ground and condeming the mere mortals, you had better be leading the most chaste, substance and vice free life second only to Mother Theresa.............. He failed that one.

;D :D

It was almost comical to watch El Rushbo's lawyer try to justify it. He said that the doctor wrote the prescription to himself and then *gave* it to Rush. Any moron with an IQ the same as his shoe size knows that's illegal too.

And the worst part of it is: Just like the last time, Rush will escape all this with a slap on the wrist. I hope I'm proven wrong on that, but...

Re: How does Rush Limbaugh in the Dominican Republic entertain a Boston audience

So much for family values.

he is thrice divorced. I pitty the poor (I assume) woman.

Re: How does Rush Limbaugh in the Dominican Republic entertain a Boston audience

and what sort of idiot doctor doesn't have samples of that stuff in his office. I know mine does. Just put a label on it and it's legal.

I did notice the Heralds story today had the headline "No Hard Evidence .... Limbaugh Case"

So nice that all the carping about him entices sufficient new listeners each day that he can afford the alimony and still have money to the lawyers and still have even more money to play with.

I DO assume you're boycotting his sponsors. If not, why you are contributing to his delinquency!

One of the grand parts of having such economic success is the ability to marry a fresh woman each time one desires. That instead of the alternatives available to those on the lower rungs of the economic ladder: Driving a throw-away car into a dimly-lit section of town and squandering the kid's lunch money on a h00ker. Or exercising another option open to the computer literate and posing as a h0rny teen-jock to lure in new toys.

Nothing, of course, says those low-cost alternatives are not available to the wealthy...and maybe some are tempted. Gee, is it only their having money that separates them from The Common Man?

Don't just sit there at the keyboard!

Make up some picket signs and march in front of Rush's house with warnings to all passing womanhood that a dangerous serial marrier (marryist?)(pick-your-own epithet) dwells within! Where is your sense of duty? You ain't gonna warn any chicks on a radio board; in case you hadn't noticed, they've almost all moved on to other interests.

Family Values: Rush Limbaugh Dominican Republic entertain a Boston audience?

Hey AKLes - Love those family values!

Guess these "conservatives" really believe less is more. Buy the emperor some new clothes, please!

Re: How does Rush Limbaugh in the Dominican Republic entertain a Boston audience

I just find it astonishing that the more-than-once divorced Rush Limbaugh is lecturing morality to gay couples who have been together in devoted relationships for twenty or thirty years. He also had this "lock 'em up" hard line against illegal drug users (until recently). The old airchecks of him
claiming that "bleeding hearts want treatment for these lawbreakers, I say lock them up" are amazing in light of recent events.

Yet, he is still on the air, claiming to be persectued by the Liberal Media, and the callers keep saying "mega-dittos, Rush".

I guess there will always be a segment of society that you can play like a fiddle.

I remember that my uncle, upon Nixon's resignation, still claimed that the Liberal Media railroaded this honest and patriotic president.

Go figure.

Appears only part of your post actually appeared.

I can't seem to find the part about the activities you have personally undertaken in the battle to protect innocent women from this marauder who seems to marry...and divorce...at will. Even a pledge never to marry Rush (whether male or female) would be at least a gesture! But....family values in the Brave New Century?

We all knew Rush had short comings. Now, the whole world knows ;)

AK-less is more!

Akles - "I don't think about him much" (to quote George Bush on Osama, though I'm talking about Limbaugh).
The bigger they are, the harder they fall. He's going to implode sooner than later - like a poster above said, amazing that people are played like a fiddle with the megga dittos.

Why I don't think about Rush much is that it is obvious the callers are mostly "plants", reading a script that is carefully orchestrated. Just the fact that rarely a progressive is on his show ought to tell you that.

Rush is unlistenable radio. 3 hours of a black hole on 680 AM that keeps them happy because it brings
in their usual clown audience and satisfies their customer base. There is certainly great programming out
there that could entertain us, but we won't see it in our lifetime unless General Tire comes back to haunt

Cite your evidence. I'm sure a powerful media personality like yourself would easily have access to information that would support your ridiculous claims.

Let me guess: on cable access right?

Hilarious.

One would be amazed should Rush NOT implode. Yes, a matter of time (unless he shuffles off this mortal coil whilst in harness). Those of us who have actually done talk radio are either addicted to the adrenaline high that comes from playing an audience iike Nero's (alleged) fiddle.....or have departed in sadness and disappointment. May I assume......

(Again extracting from Ms. V.....)
Rush is unlistenable radio. 3 hours of a black hole on 680 AM that keeps them happy because it brings in their usual clown audience and satisfies their customer base.

Certainly some find Rush "unlistenable". Ratings nationwide suggest others find him enjoyable. Reasons vary. Some are "True Believers". Some get their laughs through his intentional overstatement and tweaking of liberals, whatever they might be. And then there are those who are painfully aware of what Rush has to say each and every day because they don their hair shirts and hang on every word just for the joy of it hurting so very, very much. May I assume......

As to those vaulted "family values"....

I'm still waiting for Ms. V. to come forth with that pledge NEVER to marry Rush and to stalk the earth in a black wedding gown proclaiming to womanhood everywhere the folly of such an undertaking. Save for the alimony...and THEN only if they avoid a pre-nup.

Where, oh where, is the sincerity?

Re: How does Rush Limbaugh in the Dominican Republic entertain a Boston audience

With the gay slurs, could AkLes be...Rush hisself? Take 2 Oxys and call Dr. Melfi in the morning.
Rush is all done. Stick a fork in him, as Lou Reed would say.

Now Lou Reed on for 3 hours a day - THAT would be entertaining radio.

1. No slurs against gays intended. The assumption that V is female was an honest one based on context suggesting women everywhere need to be warned not to marry Rush...no matter how long they might have to wait in line.

2. Nope. Too old. Of course the local talk show I did in the 1960's might have been prototypical for Rush but I seriously doubt he ever heard it because so few ever did. It was not a success but it WAS fun!

3. Rush is OVERdone...and that's what draws the audience. The audience is what draws the advertisers. The advertisers are what kick in the bucks that keep the "EIB" (which we all "know" is a front for some Cuban drug lords, right?) paying Rush the big bucks. BTW, if someone did "stick a fork in him", that fork would be worth a fortune on e-Bay! More, he'd immediately offer replicas, each stained with a drop of "holy" blood (probably from some barnyard animal or neighborhood pet, some might propose) on his very profitable website "store". Oh, question: What's a "Lou Reed"?

Face it, diatribes against him are the fuel for the economic engine of Rush's prosperity.

Touch concept to grasp, nu?

I find myself sometimes amused by Rush....but more often amused by those who just can't abide his continuing success despite his own best efforts to self-destruct.

Ya gotta admire a natural talent that can turn gall into greenbacks and might even be a viable candidate for President if he were willing to take the pay cut. I mean, history proves you can do worse.....
