How Fast Is Too Fast?

We are trying out a new streaming server this week. We normally stream an off-air feed to our shoutcast server at 128k, but I just added a 160k feed to see if there is any interest in an even BETTER sounding stream.

We will create a low-res stream to keep the folks still dealing with dial-up or restrictive work LANs and keep a faster stream. I'm just not sure a stream faster than 128k is really needed.

Check out both streams on the www.radiox.fm website. The top banner "LISTEN LIVE NOW! RADIOX WORLDWIDE" is the 128k stream, the test stream is down a few inches on the front page (next to the SUBWAY contest).

Comments welcome.

I think the test stream sounds better. Our station broadcasts at cd quality.

Also if you can get a live playlist up so people can see what your playing.
