These are just ideas, nothing to hurt no one

Really? Mike Lamb and Jim Bowden? I have been bored to tears listening to the two of them together. If anything, Chris "Yawn" Myers' prerecorded interview show is just as dreadful.

At least FSR now has an alternate morning show option for those stations that don't want to carry SAS. And Dan Patrick and Tony Bruno are solid, as is most of the other parts of FSR's weekend sched. Problem is, the 3PM-7PM EDT slot and 7PM-10PM EDT slot are so weak (moreso if Myers unfortunately returns), as KLAC's offerings really aren't good at all*. Big Ben Maller should have the 1AM-6AM EDT slot, but as long as JT's contract is firmly in place, it's not going to happen.

Plus, add that nine hours out of a 24-hour day (Patrick/SAS replay or Romey/Bruno) are not even their own responsibility, and the network has more weak sports than one would think.

*On a local basis, Steve Hartman and PMS are okay. NOT on a national basis.

Agreed, ESPN succeeds because they've got the TV tie and people en mass watch ESPN/ABC and therefore see the talent they listen to. Fox has some notable talent, mostly known for their work outside of FSR, beyond that they appeal only to the hardcore sports radio nut.

Agreed. I may be in the minority here, but I rather enjoyed the Webber/Dees and Moriarity/Kennedy pairings on the weekend afternoons. I get absolutely nothing out of Jim Bowden.

I think the worst part of a lot of FSR's weekend programming is having the co-hosts in different studios. I think chemistry is a big part of talk radio, especially sports talk, and when the hosts aren't in the same studio, a great deal of that chemistry is lost. Just my opinion.

Sean Farnum is leaving Fox Sports Radio so you will need a new afternoon host? Vic the Brick anyone?

Where is he going? TV?

Sean's has had TV sportscasting commitments in LA for some time. Frankly, this doesn't surprise me.

Sporting News Radio now employs Pat Davis - the same creative service director that FSR had during the Andrew Ashwood era, and was shown the door after the KLAC merger. So yeah they now sound like FSR used to - even to the point of calling themselves "SNR" on many of their promos.

thank you for all your thoughts and replys, let's have more fun here right quick, that can be interested. Because I know, some Fox Sports Radio hosts read this website
For those who have the time, do like I did, make a program schedule. Let's see your work, maybe Fox Sports Radio Programming Personal can see this and get our ideas and thoughts. Make one up and let's help each other on this.
This site is for our thoughts regarding radio, let's use this advantage. For those who have the time, do like I did, let's see your program schedule as if you were a Radio Program Management Personal?

First of all, the afternoon drive slot - which hasn't worked since the stupid decision to break up Kiley & Booms in late 2002 - needs to be blown up. Start fresh completely. Hartman doesn't interest or excite me at all, and Farnham had sacrificed his time on the afternoon slot, mostly with Chris Myers, for several years prior to "Myers and Hartman." It's never worked.

As for PMS, only offer it to the west coast (or those on the East Coast that would want to keep it; I can't think of any stations off the top of my head) and plug in someone like Cincy-based Andy Furman (one of their best hires in recent years) for the east coast. Again, if you have PBP at night, no problem; but if you DON'T, you're screwed with a mediocre LA sports show.

Show J.T. The Door and plug Ben Maller in his place. And tell the noxious Vic The Sick, "bye-bye." I'd give Myers a note of recognition for his 10 years of service to the network and let him out with dignity.

Shows like "Raceday" aren't bad shows at all. But not for both Saturday and Sundays. And no more fantasy football talk anymore, please?

Nate, Are you really going to continue to pimp Kiley and Booms? Another fresh take with show "J.T. the door". Why don't you start you own consulting firm for all of the out of work hosts that you still think should be on the air and charge them a commission? All of the guys who can't crack the weekday lineup at any of the three Networks and your friends who burnt bridges and still can't find work?
Most of your ideas are terrible or unrealistic. It would be fun to listen to you on the air from time to time. Call into a show and try to become a famous caller or e-mailer. You might have a radio future in front of you.

Here are my personal FSR likes and dislikes:

Likes: PMS, Tony Bruno, John Fricke, Dan Patrick, Ben Maller, Chris Landry, Lamb and Bowden, Bruce Jacobs (for 2 more weeks until he's gone)

Dislikes: JT Brick, Sean Farnham, the Fantasy Football hosts, Andy Furman, Chris Moore

Indifferent: Stephen A. (used to be a dislike, but now I find him tolerable), Hartman, Moriarty and Deese, Zack and Jack, Raceday (although I do dislike the fact that it gets 2 days now instead of 1), Myers' interviews, Brian Webber, Vic Brick, Lincoln Kennedy

but if you DON'T have play by play in PT east of the rockies, you are a mediocre second rate sports station (and probably a graveyard AM) and it really doesn't matter what you have on because most people are tuned elsewear.

Here's how my Fox lineup would be like (all times Central):

M-F
5a-8a: I'd bring back Steve Czaban. Not a huge fan but I could at least listen to him
8a-11a: Dan Patrick or alternate programming if carried by a competing station
11a-2p: Jim Rome or alternate programming if carried by a competing station
2p-6p: Not sure about this slot. I'm open to any suggestions.
6p-9p: Bring back Andrew Siciliano
9-12a: JT the Brick
12a-5a: Ben Maller

Saturdays:
12a-5a: Bring back Chris Plank
5a-8a: Raceday
8a-11a: Chris Moore
11a-3p: Dan Moriarty and Derrick Deese
3p-7p: Brian Webber and Lincoln Kennedy
7p-12a: John Fricke (with Chris Landry during football season)

Sundays:
12a-5a: Chris Plank
5a-8a: Chris Myers Interview
8a-11a: Chris Moore
11a-3p: Moriarty/Deese (12-3 during NFL season with Fox NFL Sunday on from 11-12)
3p-7p: Webber/Kennedy
7p-12a: John Fricke

Petros and Money would be gone. I tried to listen to them but I just can't. Sorry, not a Tony Bruno fan either. Does nothing for me. I just read that Bruce Jacobs is about to leave FSR. Though I do like him, I would've given him the ax for Chris Plank.

Kinda proves the point, no? Although after baseball season - or the NBA season - conclude (as those two sports are the only PT sports that regularly play almost every night) those stations that HAVE PT play-by-play are still stuck with PMS.

Hahahaha... you are too kind. Look at the facts, FSR has been a total non-factor in the 3p-7p time slot ever since K&B were let go; in fact, there are more than a fair share of stations no longer carry the afternoon show in favor of a local show.

Besides, I have no intentions of having a radio career. This is, after all, armchair quarterbacking that LAUROJRM was asking for. And consulting, after all, is a portmanteau of "con" and "insulting."

And glad to see you liked the "JT The Door" gag. Thanks. I'll be here all night. Don't forget to tip your waitress.

Terrible? Please. Vic The Brick is a terrible sportscaster on a nationwide basis, for one. Petros and Money only are syndicated by attrition purposes, and have always still identified their show as a KLAC show first, FSR second. These ideas, I guess, will be unrealistic as long as FSR is a glorified superstation version of KLAC, and as it was meant for the network's survival, it ain't going to change.

Yeah, right. Calling sports shows is not for me. I actually have a life.

I like it very much, this is how Fox Sports Radio should be. This is how it used to be two years ago. If I were an Radio Program Management personal, I would hire you as an Assistant Program Director. Great ideas. I am an Radio Producer of one of Fox Sports Radio recent affiliate.

Thank you all for your responces, any more is welcomed here, thank you very much
