How Funny

Well it's obviously not a popular radio format (with perhaps only a half a dozen or so truly dance stations in America); however, the fans of the genre are extremely devoted to their music - hence all of the various eclectic discussions on here from the previous board software / administration. Most of them are gone now, but some of us are still here. Not much has been posted in here since we've gone to this new software, but we can change that.It looks like Cascada's "Miracle" is now on about 7 stations - 2 pop and 5 rhythmic. Its greatest airplay is on B-96 out of Chicago (very Cascada friendly - combined with "Everytime We Touch" she's getting over 17 spins a day) !THE MAJOR

One would think with this many posts that dance music was a popular radio format.

I'm still here!To echo Josh C's words, dance fans are an extremely devoted bunch. And to that end, we follow up on the latest dance music religiously and sometimes pound on why the majority of terrestrial radio in the states doesn't hop on to it. Satellite radio (such as BPM on XM) and Internet streams (such as Energy 98) gives dance respect as well as the few terrestrial outlets in the U.S. (such as Party 105, WMPH, etc...okay, to an extent I will even say 'KTU) but there is still more that has to happen. And it's perhaps that we are "screaming" as loud as we can about this..that's why you see as many posts as you do.

Hi Tony,Those were my words when I stated that we're 'extremely devoted'. ;)I just read a New York Daily News article on the web that you were featured in. I guess it was published last September when PARTY-105 dropped the dance music ?Do you see any hot new dance tracks out there that could crossover (a la "Everytime We Touch") and make an impact on the mainstream pop charts ? I'm not so confident about "Miracle". I would love for it to succeed though as a strong follow-up. What do you see out there ?THE MAJOR

Lucas Prata "And She Said..." currently has 199 spins at Mainstream including Z100 NY, WBLI Long Island. Looks like WZNR Norfolk just added.

Well it's certainly a hit in New York State (with 4 CHR-POP stations playing it), New Jersey, Massachusetts (FUN-107), and Greenville North Carolina. I hope more stations down the Eastern Seaboard pick-up on it. It's an excellent track !I actually liked "Let's Get It On" even more back in 2002.THE MAJOR

Smack me Major! Sorry for the misquote! ;DAnd yep, I had a talk with David Hinckley of the New York Daily News at that time when Party 105 flipped to that FM Channelcast failure. Believe me, for this station to be back....dance fans fortunate to catch it have a treat and this time ARE NOT taking it for granted :)For my crossover choices? I think it is long overdue that Bob Sinclair's "Love Generation" gets the cross over to CHR. Kim Sozzi's "Alone" has GOTTA be cross-overed by now...no QUESTION! Maybe Kristine Hendricks "You've Got It All" (remake of "The Jets" classic with a dance beat) has a shot at crossover success.
