How good can you get KLTO?

What's the story on 97.7? Do they have a PD with Rock experience? Are they looking for one? Sounds like they need one.

To say that the station's imaging is "pathetic" would be too kind.
I doubt they are spending money on the station. All they are doing is trying is give a blow to KISS ratings at the smallest expense. I doubt they are looking for a PD. KLTO is an EXACT replica of KISS, (as in they play the same exact songs KISS plays) so they wouldn't need anyone with Rock Experience. But if you are in need of a job, it wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

I like KLTO better because they don't talk as much as KISS does. But one problem is getting old is how much they bash kiss.

On another note, I was in Central Austin the other day, KLTO was not very clear in that area.

jras, considering you are an experienced Dxer, if you couldn't receive KLTO well in Austin, than no one can.

For KLTO to pull over half a share in ratings (with a signal so bad not even an Experienced DXer can catch) says a lot about the citizens of Austin, One, they are weird (saw em off), and Two, they want an Active Rock station.

Some other stations that have popped up in recent years include KBBT and KROM (Not so often though). But some stations have been consistent such as KXTN, and KISS. Just look at how KISS is doing. Surprises me no one has paid attention to this. KLTO and KISS's numbers combined surpass those of KPEZ. Austin is crying for an Active Rocker IMO.

Austin isn't where KLTO gets any numbers, the signal is non-existent in the city. However, once you cross over the hill on I-35 going into Buda, the signal appears. I would bet any numbers for KLTO in Austin are from San Marcos, Kyle, Buda fans... strictly Hays County. Same way Austin stations show up in the SA ratings with good numbers in Comal county.

I agree, Austin could use a good active rock, but people always say 'what about what KLBJ used to be?' KLBJ (when it was Active Rock a few years ago) could never be compared to 99-5 KISS! KISS is likely the best Active Rock in the country. (IMO)

I have a friend that lives in Austin off of Stassney Ln and he tells me he's able to pick up 97.7. Although, the best reception is in his car.

KLTO comes in good south Austin, but once I got in the middle it didn't. I think Victoria has a better reception of KLTO than Austin.

I got signal all the way up in the Killeen area this weekend. Totally surprised. It was sketchy in some spots, pretty good in others. Basically, it was good enough to listen to without getting irritated.
