First off, I wanna thank David Eduardo, and KMr for censoring my post about Arbitron and the price war it's wageing with Clear Channel. CC is obviously 70% of Arbi buisness. Why should'nt CC demand a better price?
And yes, Mr Eduardo, Arbi does pay up to $60 for diaries from minorities. It's impossible to get hispanics and African americans to do/turn in Arbi Diaries. Houston/D.C. is the absolute worst. Thus the term "Promised Incentives" and DST's
On to AAR:
Yes! They have experienced and talented hosts who preach to the choir. But here is the difference: There is a finite number of radio listeners that AAR can draw from.. With the many different themes on Radio these days, can AAR
actually draw the centrist listener of the politcal spectrum to tune in to AAR?
Let's examine the product: An alternative radio voice preaching to the left is launched by AAR.. It's goal is to make money by advertising.. Sounds normal? Let's examine the content:
After much analysys I have concluded that to be a member of AAR you must:
A) Believe that 9-1-1 and the London attacks were planned and perpetrated
by Israel and President Bush (This is a Randi Rhodes testament)
B) You must believe that President Bush planned the elections of 2004 so precisely that he brought in computer experts to "throw/hack" the electronic voting machines in Ohio that gave him the victory.
C) You have to hate Christians and Religion (RR and Malloy)
D) You must be gay (RR)
E) You must be a drug user (RR)
The best Randi Rhodes/Malloy conspiracy is that 4000 Israeli's were warned of the 9-1-1 attacks and left the twin towers before it happened.. However 400 were left behind to "take one for the team"
OK, the average radio listener will not buy into these wild eyed conspiracies
and will not tune into AAR.. But it's Arbi share will ALWAYS run from 1.6- 3.0 (and that's a high estimate) to coincide with the 30% far left spectrum that drives AAR
The 3 shares are in Frisco, Frisco North (Portland) and Frisco East (madison, wisconsin) (btw, in madison, there were more votes for Fidel Castro than Kerry)
But when Rush Limbaugh gets, let's say $100 for an eharmoney ad but AAR only gets $1 based on their low arbi's rate card, expect doc and lamp and the others to start screaming for the fairness doctrine again.
Regard-a-roonies!!!
