How is DeDe McGuire doing on Power 92?

Is her show being well received in Chicago?

Dang I guess she is not doing well. No answer at all.

The show probably is doing well there, but Power 92 is a rimshot station (you'll have to work to hear it anywhere north of downtown Chicago), so it only at best winds up in the middle of the pack every book. If Gary, Indiana had it's own book, Power 92, Soul 106.3 (usually towards the back of the pack in the Chicago book), Z107.1, Indiana 105 and X-Rock 103.9 would continuously hold down the top 5 spots. Z107.1, Indiana 105 and X-Rock 103.9 used to be Chicago backmarkers, but haven't shown up in the book in a while.

Power 92 did not make the top 10 for this month's ratings in the "morning" time slot, nor did the station's general listenership change in the past three months. The ratings are no help here.

I'm sure she gets listeners in her market (south of Chicago urban listeners who listen in the car while driving to work). Power 92 was a pretty popular station among younger listeners when I lived in the area, more-so on the south side but I also knew listeners who lived in the north suburbs. The station is one of the stronger rimshot stations, so it still gets many listeners from all over the area. I'm not sure if today's young people listen to the station. I'm sure some still do- broadcast radio is particularly resilient in lower socioeconomic communities.
